We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chelsea Escamilla. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chelsea below.
Chelsea, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
this isn’t something your born with. it’s something that’s earned. investing into yourself, working out, building mental strength. not making excuses for things, taking responsibility and being resourceful has built my confidence. self awareness has built my self esteem, spending lots of time ALONE with my thoughts helped me become self aware.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’ve been a hairstylist for 11 years now and re-built my clientele in 2017 in San Diego. I built my clientele off social media, fb and ig so I teach others how to do the same. All through my career I have made all the mistakes, not investing in advanced edu, emotional discounting, coming into the salon hungover, toxic relationships, zero boundaries, not making time for my health, not listening to my intuition when I had a sus new client coming in, etc. My life purpose is to teach not only hairstylists but all beauty entrepreneurs how to NOT make the same mistakes I did, so they can find success faster and thrive.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
INVEST in a coach, advanced edu and your health/fitness as a beauty entrepeneur
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
my parents made me figure it out! if I wanted something, they told me to go earn it and never just handed me it. in elementary school if I didn’t “make my own lunch” I didn’t eat. period. this resourcefulness has made me relentless in business and life. and this is what is lacking in today’s society.
