Meet Chelsea Fournier

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chelsea Fournier a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelsea, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Over the course of my career I have found deep purpose in helping business owners – particularly those that are earlier on in the journey of becoming an entrepreneur. I spent 7 years serving clients as a small business lawyer as they navigated the twists and turns of stepping into small business ownership. Then I had seasons of focusing more on 1:1 coaching, course creation, or creating digital products to help nuanced audiences I knew I could help.

When I became a mother, my dual purpose locked into place. First and foremost, I realized how deeply having my son had changed me. I was fully open to receiving a personal mission to do my own deep healing work so that I could be a more present, predictable, and supportive mother to this amazing being who I have been entrusted with guiding. Let’s just say that motherhood cracked open a new phase in my own spiritual journey and commitment to self-love and self-growth that I had not anticipated.

And if I was going to continue to take time away from family life, to grow a business, I wanted it to look and feel different. I decided to focus in on a niche that had been on my heart for years — helping purpose-led, spiritual and change-making entrepreneurs grow their business online.

I believe that there is a new generation of healers, coaches, speakers & authors who are emerging. And their voices need to be spread far and wide to support positive change in the world. And they aren’t interested in just marketing and selling in the gimmick-y, bro-marketing strategies they have been seeing online for years. They want to experience growing their business as something that feels like expansion of something truly important, and authentic to who they are and the message they are here to spread.

So even on days when it feels like juggling motherhood + running a business is impossible. I remember that my purpose falls in navigating this experience. To hopefully be a positive catalyst for my son as well as for emerging leaders.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I run a business called Intuitive Business By Design. Under that umbrella brand I offer mentoring and strategy support through 1:1 + group coaching for healers, coaches and creative service providers. I specialize in helping clients to design new offers to bring their gifts, knowledge + expertise out to the world. And mapping out authentic, aligned + strategic client journeys.

One of my greatest joys is helping business owners to see that they are much closer to launching a new offer, or creating more ease and passive sales in their business than they could have dreamed of. I work with a very simple micro-decision method – helping clients to see the next decisions in front of them to achieve the goals they have – and guiding them on tuning into their own intuition, energy and strategy to decide what steps to take.

I am also the owner of a micro-marketing agency working with this same beautiful niche of business owners. We offer website design, bespoke funnel creation, copywriting services email marketing, and even Instagram content creation / management. I love that as clients become clearer on their strategy + vision – I can now guide them to the dedicated team of experts in my agency to help them bring it all to life online.

I have a superpower of helping people take their ideas, explore the potential, lay out the logistics and then actually birth it out to the world. It’s an honor to witness what happens when intuitive, empathic + creative business owners are supported.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I can look back and see so many unique life experiences, skills and knowledge sets that now weave together to make me a unique + credible authority at what I do.

As a former lawyer, I have the ability to see the big picture and break things down into bite-size steps. And to make complex things feel more simple to the average person. I find that being able to do this for clients who don’t have a business or marketing background helps them to feel more empowered and willing to see what is possible for themselves.

As a business coach since 2012, I have worked with clients in so many walks of life and business. From physical product companies, to leaders of large organizations, to solopreneurs just starting their process. I believe this gives me incredible perspective and the ability to help normalize the challenges that clients face.

As an intuitive and empath, I believe in slowing down and helping clients to understand how their energy impacts their business. Creating rituals or habits to welcome intuition into their business can be incredibly powerful. I work hard to embody the intertwining of strategy and energetics in my own business, and encouraging others to do the same.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is someone who is incredibly gifted and has a big message or transformation to bring out to the world. They are typically far enough in their journey of life to know that they can’t (and don’t want to) do it all. And know the importance of staying in their zone of genius.

I work most (in mentoring and in my agency) with business owners in their first 5 years of entrepreneurship. Many of them are worried they have missed critical steps to make sure that they have a solid foundation, and are worried about sustainability.

Many of my clients are NOT concerned with creating 7-figure businesses, massive empires, or large team. They do however want to live a life of abundance. Being able to work for themselves instead of in a soul-sucking day job. Being able to bring their gifts, knowledge and expertise out to the world. Being able to earn a living doing what they love.

I enjoy working with clients of all backgrounds. Many of them are lifelong learners. Highly trained in different methods or modalities that they support clients with. Or they are bringing big messages out to their audiences to be a catalyst of change. Speaking, writing books, sharing on podcasts.

The most important characteristic of ideal clients for my work and the Intuitive Marketing Collective agency support is dedication to authenticity. My clients care deeply about the strategies they implement, the copy used, the design choices – all represent them in an authentic, ethical, and transparent manner. They want to attract people, opportunity and clients who are a vibrational match. No sleazy tactics, gimmicks, or manipulation needed.
