Meet Chelsea Jean

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chelsea Jean a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelsea, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I developed my self confidence by practicing as much as possible. Practicing assist me to build my skills and ensure that I’m passing the correct knowledge and skills to others.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a certified firearms instructor. I actually always grew up afraid of guns like I assume most people do, but I started this journey through an ex-boyfriend of mine who had a huge collection of guns. I found it very strange at first, but what American doesn’t like guns? I started going to the gun range as a hobby and quickly began purchasing my own firearms. It grew as a passion for me, and I wanted to teach other women the importance of protecting themselves and how guns are not scary, contrary to popular belief.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three areas of knowledge that helped me through this journey were the top fundamentals of firearms safety, which are
1. Treat every gun like it is loaded
2. Never point a gun at something you don’t plan to shoot
3. Keep your finger off the trigger

Too many accidents happen simply because people follow the basics of firearms’ safety. Which then give the 2nd amendment a bad reputation.
The best advice I would give to anyone looking to purchase a firearm is to make sure to familiarize yourself with gun safety and fully know how to operate your weapon.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I would love to connect with other women in the 2nd amendment community. I think it’s great to have women empowering and educating other women on how to protect themselves, and to also be part of a sisterhood.
