Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chelsea Williams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chelsea, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I got my work ethic from my parents. I used to see them get up each and every day for work no matter what was going on. They n never made excuses or complained. They just did it! They also motivated me each day to make a difference. If you have an awesome work ethic, you have the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life!
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am an Underwriter by day and an Entrepreneur in Event Planning by night. I’ve always loved to decorate and pick out cute themes for my friends and I. Im that friend who will coordinate our entire weekend and add a little cute girly touch to it. Eventually, coordinating and decorating allowed me to find my passion in balloons. It started off with me just doing parties for friends/coworkers and then it turned into a full blown business! Now I’m going into year 3 of being a business owner and extending my business into full service party planning. Eventually i want to own my own venue so i can really GET CREATIVE!
Becoming a business owner not only allowed me to make people smile but i have influenced others to want to do the same! And that is a great feeling!!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Time management, critical thinking and professionalism allllll played a big role in my journey as an entrepreneur. In order to have a successful business you have to be able to juggle all three. Doing so, allows you to have clients who pour into you and other businesses to support you! Anyone who is early in their journey as an entrepreneur i do suggest they try their best to embody those skills mentioned above because it will literally SAVE you so much money and time. Also, take your time and give yourself grace as you embark on this journey! Yes, the journey is Not easy but it is worth it!!!
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My husband has been my biggest supporter in this journey. He has been there for every challenge and Big wins! He lets me express my concerns to him without any judgement. He also gives the BEST advice! My husband is literally my best friend in male form lol. Together, we tackle any and everything, no matter what!
