Meet Chengrang Cho

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chengrang Cho. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chengrang below.

Chengrang, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

The best answer to this question is to be myself. Every individual in this world is unique. In the past, I used to look at other people’s work and try to duplicate it, hoping to make it my own. It wasn’t successful until I realized I didn’t need to copy anyone. I just needed to do what I believe is creative and express it to my audience. Since then, I’ve started to gain attention for my work. There’s no need to chase clout or stress over it—just keep doing what I always do and get better every time.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

As an NYC-based influencer, travel photographer, and NYU engineering student, I balance my creative work with the innovative mindset of an entrepreneur. Moving to New York City to chase my dreams has allowed me to connect with inspiring people and showcase the city’s vibrant energy through my lens. What excites me the most about my work is the blend of technology and creativity, whether it’s capturing unique travel moments or building the startup that focuses on virtual production. My journey has taught me that true success comes from staying authentic, continually growing, and sharing my passion with others.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three qualities that have been most impactful are resilience, consistency, and continuous improvement. Never giving up on my dream and I made it I believe you can do it too, staying consistent, and pushing myself to improve every day have helped me grow both creatively and professionally. My advice to those just starting out is simple: believe in your vision, stay disciplined, and always strive to get better. Progress doesn’t happen overnight, but with persistence, it will come.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, I take a step back and remind myself that nothing is more important than my health. In those moments, I prioritize self-care by disconnecting from work and heading outside. Walking in Central Park or going for a bike ride helps me clear my mind and release stress. The fresh air and change of scenery give me the reset I need, allowing me to regain focus and return to my projects with a renewed perspective. It’s essential to recharge so I can be at my best, both mentally and physically.
