Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cherokee Lee. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Cherokee, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
…Well my work ethic is a combination of innate traits and learned behaviors. My Aunt Eloise was a work workaholic . She work two jobs and was on every board in the community and at church. So at an early age I started working, I had penny savers and newspaper route. When I turned 13 years old then I begin in the real work force lol at McDonalds so from there I excelled to other jobs as I got older. When in the work force field I’ve became a workaholic. Then when I reach my adult years I saw my Mommy Doris always working and creating different platforms of revenue and thats when everything really took off for me in the work field, So now I’m here with my own brand that I’m building from scratch. I had one point work for Macys for 16 years was a specialist in every department that I work I work in, but when Covid-19 hit the company downsize and now they about to close that particular store. I love what I do it brings me so much joy and peace.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Well I believe it was me cooking from home sharing the love. Also I was doing Pop Up Shop Events with different Vendors. I was creating a buzz from myself. All I did was take the knowledge I learned over the years and put into mu business.
The advice I would give is keep pushing and reaching for the stars. It may get hard at times, but don’t quit its all a process, When the timing is right God will let know.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My children and strangers whom became friends and supporters. One thing for sure I have to say Bushwick ‘Darkside” always supported me in everything.
