Meet Cheyenne Alejandro

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cheyenne Alejandro. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Cheyenne, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

Resilience, for me, has always been a way of life. As the oldest of five kids in a working-class family, I learned early on that challenges weren’t roadblocks—they were stepping stones. My dad was in the Navy, which meant we moved around a lot, constantly adjusting to new schools, new friends, and new environments. While it wasn’t always easy, it taught me how to adapt quickly, stay grounded in who I was, and find strength in uncertainty.

One of my earliest lessons in resilience came from watching my mom work tirelessly in her sewing shop. She was a true example of perseverance—balancing family life while running a business, making something out of nothing, and always finding a way forward. As a child, I would help her in the shop, trimming threads and folding newly sewn garments. I didn’t realize it then, but those moments were planting the seeds of both my work ethic and my creative spirit.

Despite financial challenges, I was determined to go to college and become a nurse. I put myself through school, knowing that a career in nursing would allow me to help others while also providing stability for my future. Nursing has shaped me in countless ways, reinforcing my belief in the power of self-care, advocacy, and human connection.

Resilience isn’t about never facing hardship; it’s about finding ways to keep going, even when the path isn’t clear. Whether it was moving from place to place as a child, working my way through school, or taking on new challenges in my career, every experience has shaped who I am today. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that resilience isn’t just about bouncing back—it’s about growing through what you go through.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m the founder of B. LUVV & CO., a brand that creates premium handmade scrunchies inspired by self-care and individual style. My journey into entrepreneurship was unexpected but deeply personal. Sewing became a creative outlet for me—something that brought me both relaxation and joy. It started with making scrunchies for my daughters, then for friends and family, and before I knew it, it blossomed into B. LUVV & CO.. What began as a simple act of love turned into something so much more—a way to merge my passion for self-care, my creativity, and my entrepreneurial spirit.

What makes B. LUVV & CO. special is the attention to detail and quality. Every scrunchie is made from premium fabrics, designed to be both beautiful and functional. Whether it’s the luxe feel of satin, the soft comfort of microvelvet, or the durability of performance knits, I focus on making pieces that not only look great but also feel amazing to wear.

What excites me most is seeing how something as simple as a scrunchie can bring joy and confidence to people. I love hearing from customers who tell me how much they love their scrunchies—whether it’s because they stay put without pulling, add the perfect finishing touch to an outfit, or just make them feel a little extra special.

Beyond just accessories, B. LUVV & CO. represents a bigger message—embracing self-care, celebrating personal style, and feeling good in the little moments of everyday life. Now, through my business, I get to share that same love and intention with others, creating accessories that make people feel confident, stylish, and cared for. That’s what keeps me inspired and makes this journey so rewarding.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I can see that adaptability, perseverance, and creativity have been the most impactful qualities in my journey—both as a nurse and as an entrepreneur.

1. Adaptability – Growing up in a military family meant constantly adjusting to new schools, new environments, and new challenges. That ability to pivot and embrace change has helped me tremendously, whether it was putting myself through nursing school, starting a business from scratch, or navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

Advice: The best way to develop adaptability is to step outside your comfort zone as often as possible. Challenges will come, but instead of resisting change, try to see it as an opportunity for growth. Stay open to learning new skills, and don’t be afraid to shift directions when needed.

2. Perseverance – Nothing worthwhile happens overnight. From working my way through college to building B. LUVV & CO., every step required patience and persistence. There were moments when I doubted myself or wondered if I was on the right path, but I kept going, even when progress felt slow.

Advice: Success isn’t about never facing setbacks—it’s about pushing through them. Stay committed to your goals, even when things don’t go as planned. Surround yourself with people who uplift and support you, and remind yourself why you started in the first place.

3. Creativity – Creativity has been at the heart of everything I do, whether it’s problem-solving in nursing or designing scrunchies that make people feel good. B. LUVV & CO. started as a simple creative outlet, but it became something much bigger because I allowed myself to explore and follow my passions.

Advice: Creativity thrives when you give yourself permission to try new things without fear of failure. Experiment, take risks, and don’t worry about being perfect. Whether you’re starting a business, learning a new craft, or developing a skill, give yourself space to grow and evolve.

At the end of the day, your journey is uniquely yours. Stay flexible, stay determined, and never stop creating. You never know where your passions might take you!

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

Right now, my biggest challenge is balancing family life, running B. LUVV & CO., and working full-time as a nurse. Each of these roles is incredibly important to me, and I pour my heart into all of them, but juggling it all can definitely feel overwhelming at times.

As a nurse, I see firsthand how vital self-care is, yet it’s something I have to remind myself to prioritize. Between caring for others, growing my business, and being present for my family, it’s easy to put my own needs last. I’m constantly working on finding that balance—learning to set boundaries, manage my time more intentionally, and give myself grace when things don’t go perfectly.

One thing that helps is remembering why I started. B. LUVV & CO. was built on the idea that small moments of self-care matter, and I try to live by that, whether it’s taking a few minutes to reset or simply enjoying the creative side of my business. It’s a work in progress, but I’m learning that success isn’t about doing everything at once—it’s about showing up, staying consistent, and giving yourself the space to grow.
