Meet Chiara Fornetti

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chiara Fornetti. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chiara below.

Hi Chiara, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My work ethic is a blend of personal values and cultural influences. Growing up in diverse environments, I learned the importance of respect, curiosity, and open-mindedness, which have shaped my approach to work.

The people around me constantly inspire me. Collaborating with others from different backgrounds has taught me the value of listening actively and learning from diverse perspectives. By embracing curiosity and asking thoughtful questions, I’ve grown both personally and professionally.

Ultimately, my work ethic is driven by a desire to contribute meaningfully to the teams I work with. I believe I can make a positive impact by staying committed, focused, and always striving for improvement.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’ve had a colorful journey, from teaching in Germany and San Francisco to diving into the dynamic world of Hollywood production. My husband, Davide Fiore, a talented film director and editor, ignited my passion for the industry.

I thrive on the excitement of bringing creative visions to life. Whether it’s a documentary, short film, or TV series, I love being part of the process. Recently, I’ve been fortunate to work as a Production Finance Analyst for a major studio, a role that blends creativity with financial acumen.

One of my favorite aspects of this work is the global nature of filmmaking. I’m fluent in four languages, which allows me to connect with diverse teams and cultures. I enjoy the challenge of finding the perfect team members, from script consultants to tax incentives.

Ultimately, I’m driven by the thrill of learning and collaborating with talented individuals. The film industry is a constant source of inspiration, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

This is a great question! Mmm…ok, let’s dive into some of my fav skills.

1. Language Lover: I’ve always been a bit of a language nerd. Back in high school, I chose a school an hour away just to learn German! My teachers were linguistic wizards, constantly pushing us to be better. They even set us up with exchange programs in places like Tunisia, Canada, and Australia. It was like a real-life language immersion boot camp. Thanks to these high school years, I truly learned the importance of human connection!

2. Risk-Taking Adventurer: My family was the ultimate travel squad. Every summer, we’d pack up our caravan and hit the road, exploring new countries and cultures. I was fascinated by how people from different backgrounds could connect through language, music, and food. So, my advice is: don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Every risk, no matter how small, can lead to incredible rewards.

3. The Power of Partnership and Self-Love: I’ve been fortunate to find a life partner who’s always supported my dreams. But remember, you don’t need a romantic partner to succeed. Strong friendships and family bonds can be equally powerful. Surround yourself with people who believe in you and lift you up. And most importantly, believe in yourself. With love and support, you can conquer the world!

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

My husband Davide has undoubtedly been most helpful in overcoming challenges and developing essential skills. He is not just my best friend; he is my rock. Every day, I wake up knowing that an incredible person loves me. His care, support, and dedication to our well-being have been a constant source of strength.

What I admire most about Davide is his creativity. It’s truly inspiring to see the world through his eyes. While we may have different tastes in movies and projects, we always support each other, which has been a key part of my personal growth.

We are currently navigating the journey of the film festival circuit with his first feature documentary, “A Little Fellow: The Legacy of A.P. Giannini.” This project represents the last eight years of our lives in the United States and marks our first major film endeavor here together. I’ve had the privilege of supporting him at every stage of this process, and watching him grow professionally has been one of my proudest experiences.
