Meet Chino Lucci

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chino Lucci. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Chino , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I would say I got my resilience from my mother. I saw her wake up every day and go to work before it was time for me and my sisters to get ready and go to school. I had to lock the door as she left sometimes. I saw her hold two jobs at a time, sometimes a third job as a weekend part time. Making ends meet and providing for four kids. So at an early age, I became the man of the house. I had to pitch in. When I started making money, I put in paying bills helping my mom. I would also say I learned resilience from my failures. Understanding nobody will save you, you have to save yourself. The only way to do that is to get up and keep going. Take what you’ve learned from that failure, and apply it to the next effort and give it your all. That will mold resilience.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the Owner and Creator of The Poseidon’s Neptune Brand. It is a natural skincare line of products for men, women, and skin of all types, but I plan to use it as an umbrella for a multitude of other products, services, and lines of business. This is just a vessel to catapult into new realms to give to the people. I’ve always been about helping people, ways of healing, and motivating people to be their best selves. This is why my brand is different. As good as I may be when it comes to business, deep down I am a family man. My family and my people is who I do it for. That’s what motivates me. It may not make sense now, but it will later.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Number one, I’d say is have a plan for your ambitions. You can’t get to your destination without a map of how to get there and execute. Two, I’d say is determination to get there. We have days when we are tired or ready to give up. But if you do that, then your ambitions will always just be a dream, and every thing you’ve done thus far will be in vain. And last but not least, be able to take constructive criticism. This also falls into accountability and it may be the most important one. If you can’t learn and own up to your own mistakes and see how you can be or do better, you won’t grow or elevate. Period. Experience can be your best teacher, but you must apply what you’ve learned and hold yourself accountable where you fell short at.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I feel overwhelmed, I take a break from certain things and I go to God. I ask for peace, strength, patience, understanding, and covering. I read scripture and stay prayerful. It is a practice that may take time and understanding for some people but it works and has always worked for me. Even at times I may unintentionally drift away, I always find myself reeling back in to God who will always provide even when you think he is not hearing you. He does.
