Meet Chloe Abbott

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chloe Abbott. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chloe below.

Hi Chloe , thank you for joining us today and sharing your experiences and acquired wisdom with us. Burnout is a huge topic these days and so we’d love to kick things off by discussing your thoughts on overcoming or avoiding burnout
I have experienced burnout so many times in my life. I think it’s normal for passionate creative beings. As I get older I recognize when to take a break and allow myself to just exist without feeling like I should be doing something. I think that it’s a mistake a lot of people make when they have goals, it’s important to remember that you are also human. I’ve learned to allow myself grace and remember that I am human, not a machine. One of my mentors Antoine Troupe said “work from rest , not to rest” and that has stuck with me ever since.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am currently living in Los Angeles California, and since moving here I’ve had so many doors opened for me that I never thought would be possible. I came here for Professional Dance and along the way I have cultivated my own brand and fan base as a creative. I went viral on TikTok multiple times for my dance videos. It was the first time I felt validated and knew that I was doing all of the right things. I used to see myself as just a dancer but now I create social media content, I am a Playboy Bunny, an instructor for the Fit2Flaunt app, styling, creative directing , and now breaking into modeling world. I want to do anything and everything creative. It’s my passion.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Perseverance, self belief, and having empathy for myself are things that helped get me to where I am today. Growing up in a small town in New Hampshire there wasn’t really a lot of opportunities for creatives and I always had big dreams. People would doubt me continuously and I would use that as my fire to prove them wrong. Self belief is extremely important, I’ve found that believing in yourself whole heartedly attracts the right energies you are meant to be around. The journey is not always easy or linear, but perseverance is a skill I developed from a young age that helps me to this day. I started dancing at 4 years old and grew up competing around the country. I quickly had to learn that if I wanted to be the best I needed to persevere past my own as well as others doubts, and the blood , sweat, and tears (literally). It’s also important to be empathetic with yourself. I started to develop this ideology late teens into my twenties. It’s so important to take care of yourself and love yourself. I found that if I’m not connected with myself , how can I connect with an audience? It doesn’t happen over night, but try every day to say something or do something nice for yourself and appreciate all that you’ve done for yourself.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Honestly, when I’m overwhelmed I have a good cry to just let out that energy and I feel better after. It’s okay to just experience human emotion and let it flow through you and come out how it needs to. I find when I am authentically allowing myself to feel, I can let the storm pass and clear up my headspace so I can think from a grounded perspective. Everyone’s process is different, and I firmly believe in allowing yourself to feel everything as it comes so you don’t get totally overwhelmed and feel stuck.
