Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chloe Capeles. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chloe, so happy to have you with us today. You are such a creative person, but have you ever head any sort of creativity block along the way? If so, can you talk to us about how you overcame or beat it?
It’s very easy to find your self repeating the same things or just simply cannot think of new ideas. We have to remember that inspiration is all around us. Social media helps a ton to get fresh ideas. Sometimes taking something that has nothing to do with your field and taking inspiration from it can be the trick!
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a Nail Artist in Greenville, South Carolina! I’m 23 years old and have been licensed for 6 years now. I really love my job because I have lots of freedom with it. From creating my own schedule & environment to the art that I do. If I did regular nails all day I would get bored but I have amazing clients that trust me to create fun nail art on them. Coming this fall I am opening my own salon here in Mauldin, SC! Look out for Capeles Studio!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three things that helped me were my talents, motivation, and support. Having natural talents will always help anyone strive for their dreams but the main key you need is motivation. I set my heart to nails when I was only 12 years old, and I never changed my mind. You have to be motivation to achieve your goals, whatever the goals may be. Last the support of my parents, family, and friends was amazing. I did have some low points where I wanted to give up or slack off but they were there for me to lift me back up. Support from others is amazing but you always need to support yourself!
All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
The number one obstacle for me was simply just starting. After nail technology school I still felt unprepared. No one’s fault! I simply was just scared. Starting a business at the age of 17 is really scary and over whelming, I didn’t think I could do it. But I got lucky and had a place to work so I at least had a place to start. The rest was just sticking to the plan and making it happen. Definitely starting was the hardest part for me.
