Meet Chloe Walker

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chloe Walker a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Chloe , so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My optimism is deeply rooted in my upbringing. So I’m a PK , and for those who don’t know what that means that stands for pastors kid. I know the stereotype that surrounds that but it’s just that, a stereotype. I was raised to see the glass is half full and always be thankful because things could be worse. A lot of the things that we look at a huge inconveniences are nothing compared to what a lot of people have to go simply to make it through the day. My parents make sure to always have us keep things in perspective and even volunteer in certain places to understand really how easy our life was, and really just watching them helped shape my view on life and the world no matter how crazy it gets. They really instilled in me to not follow the crowd , understand that everything doesn’t happen on our time and trust in God.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
So I am a EGOT winner (Just speaking that into future fruition! ) But I have been acting for seven years now. I started in theater in college. My first role was a in a rendition of the play 12 Angry Men. I always knew I wanted to get an acting, but I kind of felt like I had waited too long to start, but getting this role sparked something in me. After a year, I transitioned to film (for the most part) at first I was only on set is a PA ( production assistant) but I quickly started talking to people, asking questions, seeing what I needed to do to get to where I wanted to be. I started out finding my own opportunities; I was on several commercials and on TV twice, but it wasn’t until I found an amazing acting headshot Photographer. ( Dother Sykes IV) ,& got signed to an agency in Oklahoma that I really started to see more of the opportunities that I wanted. I just wrapped two featuring film projects, and I’ve been cast in 5 music videos in the past year just based off my acting.I think that’s exciting about what I do on the acting side of things: I get to take on a character and build a backstory for that character and really become them for the film. S/O Taped Studios {Destiny Washington} for really helping me grow as an actor this year. On the interviewing side of things (Clo’s Pick)is exciting to meet new people, and since all my interviews are non-scripted, I enjoy the challenge of coming up with questions on the spot in playing off of what we talked about so far.

The most recent thing released that I was in was a short called ‘BEADS’ . We had its premiere in November and it’s currently touring in Central Texas. I have two films that should be red carpeting by next year : You Promise {Dir. Theo Bray} & From Hood To Good ( based on a true story) {Dir. Theo Bray}.
This upcoming year of 2024 I plan on doing nothing but elevating. First off getting another agent based in Texas so I can have closer opportunities; I have dubbed myself the #femaletylerperry and I am going to show everything that I can do. I have already had the opportunity to not only act, but direct three music videos (so far) multiple photo shoots and a short film. I am currently building my team that will aid me dropping more projects of a variety of genres to show our range. What I am about is not only pushing me and my name but also helping people who are willing to put the work in and that’s what the production company that I will be getting LLC ‘d will be focused in. On the other side Clo’s Pick will be expanding past the music artist and movie premieres I’ve been doing and adding businesses and food establishment to help bring light to the people and places that we need to support.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Knowing how to lead a conversation has definitely been a must have skill for my interviews, because sometimes the interviewee gets stuck, or there is dead air that needs to be filled ASAP, and just knowing how to think on the fly can be the difference between a good interview and a great one.

The company you keep, and I don’t know if that is technically considered a skill but in just these past few years I have opened myself up to so many people and had to cut twice as many. It’s no bad blood, it’s just knowing that business is business and if I’m trying to build something and you’re not at least on a parallel with me there’s no need for you to be around to be a distraction. Also understanding that everybody doesn’t have the best intentions. I live in the Fort Worth area but a lot of the work I do is in the Dallas area; I had to get out of that naïve mindset that everybody wants the best for me , they don’t that’s why it’s important to vet your people and make sure that it’s a mutual exchange in support and loyalty.

Figuring out how to grow my network is definitely a skill that has been tremendously helpful. Me simply building relationships with some of the people I have has gotten me in so many doors I thought it would take much longer to get into. It has rung true on numerous occasions that it really is not always what you know it’s who you know. So you have to get out, go to mixers, networking events, premieres, shows and everything. Make sure people at least hear your name!

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Absolutely! I am continuously looking for people to come on Clo’s Pick: music artists(which would have to come to me), movie premieres (for me to work the red carpet ) , businesses, and food establishments ( which I’m willing to travel to). I’m always down to work with artist on directing their music videos. The actor in me comes up with creative, sometimes storyline music videos, which are different than the typical so I’m well worth my fee.
I’m looking for dedicated actors , writers and eventually crew , I have so many ideas and want to create things that we not only can submit to festivals and sorts but also can make money off of and break into Hollywood with!
