Meet Chris Gilbert

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chris Gilbert. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Chris, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

The way that I developed my confidence and self-esteem is several phrases that I have always kept in mind “It Doesn’t; Hurt to Ask”, ” You lose nothing by trying” “It’s not like you have it and will lose it by asking for it” the word no does not phase or bother me one bit. Being told that I am too much of this or not enough of that only adds fuel to my fire. You live this life once. You have to make the most of it. I developed my confidence and self-esteem from keeping my head up and going after what I want.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a small entrepreneur. I am involved in energy investments. The one thing I want the readers to know about me is to. always look for opportunities to give back. Whether it is helping someone reach their goals or a local organization. The more I give, the more I make. It never fails.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Honesty, resilience, integrity. It seems like many people in this country and especially the younger generation do what is considered the norm. They go with the flow and do what they are told to do. Now don’t get it wrong, show respect to everyone and everything and do your job to the best of your abilities. But you don’t have to be and do the status quo in life. Stop following the crowd. Do what you want to do and get what you want out of life. Quit chasing material items, quit trying to keep up with the Jonses and quit trying to compare yourself with others. Stop viewing others as competition. So much is added and valued with great interpersonal relationship building and networking. Live your life to the fullest, stay in your lane when you need to and help others when you can.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

If I had only one decade left, I would spend my time with friends and family. The ones who truly care for me and love me. At the end of life, that’s really all you have. There are many people without a nickel to their name but are very rich with friends and family. On the flip side, there are billionaires who lack true friendship and companionship. Your money, your businesses, your accolades, your awards are great, but they aren’t the true meaning of life. It is the impact on people and their lives that make the greatest impact.
