Meet Chris Jeffreys

We were lucky to catch up with Chris Jeffreys recently and have shared our conversation below.

Chris, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My Childhood. I grew up in unusual circumstances that forced me to learn how to become the hero of my own story. I was told at a young age by people I thought that loved me that I wouldn’t amount to anything and I failed a bunch of times. But one thing I learned at a young age is your life is not determined by what people say about you, is determined by who you believe you are. It’s a mind set thing. So every day I would tell my self that I would be the greatest and “FAME IS CERTAIN”. I know I will never be the greatest, But everyday I wake up I got something to chase. I became my own number one fan and did what people told me was impossible. With God on your side , It’s impossible to fail.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an Actor and producer signed by the great PEOPLE STORE TALENT AGENCY. Acting been apart of my life as long as I can remember. When I was a child our power would get cut off a lot , so my aunt would make my siblings and I do improv shows In front of each other. I believe Thats when the acting bug bit me. Growing up in the south side of Raleigh North Carolina, was very tough but acting kept me out a lot of trouble. I’ll never forget the day I jumped to officially chase the dream, It was summer 2015 . The year I had lost everything. Lost my girl at the time, my grandmother previous, got kicked out of college, All my clothes got thrown away, I literally lost everything. I seen this add about a show called “VICE PRINCIPALS” are looking for extras in Charleston SC. So I thought to my self, instead of being depressed, ima head down to SC and make it happen. I got a one way ticket to Charleston, SC and was sleeping on the streets of Charleston SC chasing this dream of mines. On set being an extra in the morning, and was sleeping on the street at night. That went own for a whole three months before a friend I had made on set “Jason” saved me from homelessness. I have no regrets, I learned so much from my experience on that set, and im forever grateful. Acting saved my life. Fast forward to the present, Acting showed me places I thought I would never see. Miami, New York, Charleston ..ect. I booked plenty of Commercials and Just recently booked a role in a new NBC show going out this year. I also create my own projects as-well in-between AuditIoning, create don’t wait.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful on my journey was Resilience, Faith, and bravery. My advice to anyone chasing a dream is this quote. “through the perilous fight, you must remain Brave, Be the reason why people believe dreams come true” ..Shout out to my sister Nina Jeffreys, she got a clothing line dropping soon. (wanted to slide that in there haha)

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
God, without God I am nothing. I wouldn’t be this far without him. My siblings, They motivate me to be a great leader for them. I want to be a great example to follow. My two beautiful children, Im motivated to give them a life I never had. And my close friends D Rae and Brice Heller, tow of the best actors I know. You are the company you keep and Im surrounded by greatness. I learned so much form them.
