Meet Chris Levine

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chris Levine. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chris below.

Chris, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

I’m constantly shifting between mediums and challenges. Whether I’m acting, writing a play or producing a feature film, I really thrive when I’m telling stories across different platforms. I don’t wait for inspiration- I chase it by staying active, working on multiple projects at once and allowing one form to fuel the next.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three things that shaped my path the most were persistence, adaptability, and I would say instinct.

First, persistence—this industry can be brutally slow, and there were plenty of moments I could’ve quit. But I kept creating. Even when doors didn’t open, I built my own. That mindset helped me write books, make indie films, and take on roles I believed in.

Second, adaptability—wearing multiple hats has been crucial. I’ve acted, written, produced, marketed, and even edited my own content. That flexibility has kept me creative and employable.

Lastly, storytelling instinct—it’s that gut-level drive to find the heart of a scene, a character, or a project. Whether I’m on stage, on screen, or writing a novel, it always comes back to story. And in some cases storytelling can’t be taught- it’s part of you.

For anyone just starting: don’t wait for permission. Create your own stuff, even if it’s small. Say yes to opportunities that stretch you. And learn every angle of your craft—even the parts that aren’t your ‘job.’ The more tools you have, the less reliant you’ll be on luck, and the more control you’ll have over your path.
