Meet Chris Powerz

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chris Powerz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Chris, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I used to deal with a lot of self-esteem issues as a teenager and in adolescence. My problems with confidence along with social anxiety drive me to isolation for a long time. I ended up having a lot of time to myself and with a few close friends, but I found real fulfillment from people who accepted me as I was. The more that I acknowledged this acceptance, the more comfortable I felt being myself, and that transferred into every other aspect of my life and became a tool.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Chris Powerz, and I make music in various genres about social issues and self-reflection. I perform in various cities across Michigan and create different media surrounding my messages. Recently I’ve been expanding and preparing to drop an artistic project that explores the depth of human perspective. You can follow my journey of discovery and works with many artists by searching for my name on any platform.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Some of the most important skills that have helped me during my process:

Networking- Learning more about people in your proximity opens opportunities down the line, and gets your names in rooms you might not have thought about behind the scenes.

Putting yourself out there- This is a skill that requires practice to develop. It takes more than courage to learn how to be openly vulnerable while continuously promoting yourself. Eventually it will always pay off

Consistency- Being consistent is a life changing skill in any area, and when you are consistent you see results that you may not have thought you were capable of.

Practicing these skills in any setting makes a world of difference in how your journey progresses.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
It will never be one person. Seeing any type of success or achievement almost always comes from a team effort. Having a community of people that support you and look out for you will reinforce even your worst weaknesses. It’s a necessity in my field to have people around you that make you reflect on your own thoughts and processes, and grounds you. I’m forever grateful to have found the supportive people that are around me, otherwise I would have never made it this far.
