Christian, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
Having confidence and self-awareness has helped me believe in my abilities and value what you bring to the table. Continue to embrace your unique perspective and experiences and use that to highlight your talents. Being the only one in the room may seem like an obstacle, but it truly is an opportunity to shine bright and create a door for others

Greetings! It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance! I go by the name Derniele, but you can call me Christian Mosi. Proudly hailing from the vibrant land of Trinidad and Tobago, I now call the dazzling city of New York my home and a proud native of Orlando, FL. As a Caribbean Fashion Influencer, Consultant, and personal shopper, I find immense joy amidst the glittering lights of runway fashion shows, where creativity knows no bounds. Through my work, I’m humbled and honored to share the rich tapestry of my culture with both you and the world.
Fashion, community service, and fitness are the pillars of my passions. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from Rollins College, and my journey has led me to occupy multiple roles, such as a freelance fashion assistant, contributing writer, and executive healthcare professional with a concentration in Cancer Biology and Genetics by day. My heart is deeply rooted in giving back to my community, ensuring that I make a meaningful impact beyond the glitz and glamour.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
In my journey as a fashion influencer, three core elements have been instrumental in shaping my path: faith, fearlessness, and a willingness to take risks. These principles have not only guided me but also propelled me towards success and fulfillment in the world of fashion.
First and foremost, faith has been my unwavering anchor. Believing in myself, my abilities, and my unique vision has given me the courage to pursue this exhilarating career path. My faith in the power of my creativity and the impact I can make on others through fashion has fueled my determination to push boundaries and surpass limitations.
Fearlessness has been my constant companion, urging me to step out of my comfort zone and embrace new challenges. Being a fashion influencer demands innovation and a willingness to break free from conventions. I’ve learned to approach each opportunity with a bold spirit, unafraid of the unknown and resilient in the face of setbacks. This fearlessness has allowed me to explore uncharted territories, collaborate with diverse individuals, and continuously evolve as an influencer.
Taking risks has been the catalyst for growth and transformation in my fashion journey. I’ve come to realize that the most significant breakthroughs and achievements often lie just beyond the edge of familiarity. Embracing risks has opened doors to exciting collaborations, fashion ventures, and connections that I could have never imagined. Each risk taken has propelled me further, expanding my horizons and elevating my influence within the industry.

The decision of my family to migrate to a new country in pursuit of new opportunities has been a transformative chapter in my life, opening doors that I could never have imagined. This courageous and forward-looking step taken by my family has had a profound impact on my personal growth, educational journey, and future prospects.
