Christian, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I found my purpose at a really young age. I have been flying remote control aircrafts since I was a kid, which led me to having a passion for flight since day one. Being an avid drone racer, I learned how to build, tune, fly, and rebuild my drones nearly every weekend. Being at a highly competitive level of racing, I always strived to be the best. I started dabbling with putting cameras on these drones to capture a unique perspective of vast landscapes and automotive vehicles. My journey of filmmaking started in the automotive realm as a photographer, and with the blend of filmmaking with racing drones, my future took off since then. To this day, I have managed to film with many major brands such as RedBull, GoPro, Mercedes, and CanAm to name a few. It goes to show that following a passion from a young age and dialing in your craft, can create your dream future.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a professional Drone Pilot and Cinematographer and have started a full time production company known as Avionik Studios LLC. In short, I fly cinema cameras on flying aircrafts at a high rate of speed nearing over 100mph. I put these cameras in high risk scenarios where putting a human camera operator would be slightly dangerous. Utilizing these aerial shots can give a director a more creative eye, and can capture unique footage that is not captured any other way. I feel excited about my job because it is unique, and I can make a living having fun, and flying really cool cameras in the air. Avionik Studios is a brand that focuses on commercial productions and aids with other production companies to facilitate their aerial needs. We are also one of the very first people in the United States to capture aerobatic aviation with drones legally.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I personally believe the skills of practice and really diving into your craft is what helped to be super impactful in my life and career. I focused to be the best and did not settle for anything. Having that perfectionist mentality allowed me to focus on getting the best shots possible. I constantly ask myself after every shoot, “Could that shot have been better? If I was the director, would I be satisfied with this?” If I can answer yes to those, I feel I did a good job. Advice for people early in their journey; I would personally focus on not making money, but getting as good as you can with what you’re good at, and build the largest portfolio that you can. Once you build that portfolio you can network and get noticed by large companies.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was the constant support of my business. They always believed in my passion and what I envisioned to be a career. Never once did they doubt me and they always pushed positivity even when things didn’t seem to be going the way I envisioned them to be going.
