Meet Christian Rodrigo

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christian Rodrigo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Christian with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
From my childhood school and my university.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I have over two decades of extensive experience in the Entertainment Industry to the table. Hailing from Barcelona, Spain, I currently reside in the vibrant city of Los Angeles.

My journey in the world of entertainment is truly multifaceted. I am member of SAG-AFTRA, the Actors Studio (seasonal member in the Directors’ Unit & Play Development Unit), and the Cinema Academy of Catalonia.

As an actor, I’ve worked in films, TV shows, theater plays, music videos, and commercials. I’ve also hosted various events (such as Billionaire in Sporting Montercarlo this past summer 2023) and TV programs (such as Mañana Latina – Vision Latina Network). This year I’ve had the privilege to have got 2 feature films screening in the US theaters: Bruce Willis’ last feature film “Assassin” and “Hispanics Satanics”. I’ve also got the chance to star in the music video “Jesus He Knows Me” from Ghost band with nearly 3 million reproductions on Youtube.

I ventured into production, founding Full Emotions SL in Barcelona, Spain, in 2007, and later establishing Full Emotions Inc. in Los Angeles in 2019. Under my production companies, I’ve produced a range of projects, including internationally acclaimed films like “Wings” and “My Invisible Friend,” as well as commercials, awarded music videos, and TV shows such as “LA Confidential.” And of course, of my very special projects, the Brisk Festival, that held it’s third edition this past September 2023 at the Morgan-Wixson theatre in Santa Monica.

In 2013, I founded an Acting Studio in Los Angeles, where I’ve imparted my knowledge and skills to actors from around the world.

My affiliation with The Actors’ Gang, a Los Angeles theater company led by Tim Robbins, for many years showcases my commitment to the world of live performances. I’ve also served as the Assistant Director to the legendary John Malkovich for the play “Hysteria” in Barcelona and Madrid.

Beyond my roles as an actor and producer, I have a diverse and extensive skill set as a host, photographer, camera operator, director, and editor. My expertise extends to directing. And at this moment, we are developing a feature film that I’ll be directing and starring on it..

I also like to combine my MBA from ESADE/Emory with my artistic prowess. This fusion of business acumen and artistic creativity has propelled me to create a significant impact in the realms of films, music videos, commercials, television programs, theater, and documentaries.

My dedication to the Brisk Festival, a 10 min festival, that this past edition had 240 participants and 52 plays in official competition, is evident in my commitment to providing a pleasant and outstanding experience to both participants and audience members. My goal is to help fellow artists with a platform to showcase their talent and to create a generous artistic community in Los Angeles.

In sum, I could say that some people see me as a creative powerhouse, bridging the gap between business and art, and leaving an indelible mark on the world of entertainment and film and theatre festivals. My passion and commitment to the industry are palpable in my extensive and diverse body of work.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Commitment, training, self-motivation. My main advice would be to follow your dreams but be ready to work hard, make some sacrifices and train as much as you can, so when the time comes, you’ll be ready to take any opportunity that arises.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m always encouraging people to participate in our festival, the Brisk festival. Writers, directors and actors, are always welcome to submit their proposals for the 2024 festival: briskfestival.com/submit…

But I’m also looking to work with talented artists that are wanting to be a part of independent projects. I love to develop new stories as a filmmaker. But I really like to work with very motivated artists in all departments that are willing to create together.
