We were lucky to catch up with Christina Collins recently and have shared our conversation below.
Christina, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Overcoming imposter syndrome has been a personal journey for me. As I faced moments of self-doubt and questioned my own abilities, despite my experience and expertise.
To overcome imposter syndrome, I adopted several strategies. Firstly, I reminded myself of my accomplishments and the positive feedback I received from clients and peers. Reflecting on these achievements helped me recognize my value and capabilities.
Secondly, I surrounded myself with a supportive network of mentors, colleagues, and friends who believed in me and my vision. Their encouragement and validation played a crucial role in boosting my confidence and reminding me that I had earned my place in the industry.
Another important step was acknowledging that making mistakes and facing challenges are part of the learning process. Instead of viewing them as signs of incompetence, I reframed them as opportunities for growth and improvement. This mindset shift helped me embrace a more positive and resilient outlook.
Additionally, I realized that everyone experiences moments of self-doubt and that it is a common struggle. Sharing my insecurities and fears with trusted individuals created a safe space for open discussions, which further alleviated the weight of imposter syndrome.
Lastly, I focused on continuous learning and professional development. By staying up-to-date with industry trends, acquiring new skills, and honing my expertise, I bolstered my confidence and reinforced my knowledge base.
Overcoming imposter syndrome is an ongoing process, but by practicing self-compassion, surrounding myself with support, embracing growth, and investing in my professional development, I have been able to conquer those feelings of inadequacy and move forward with confidence in my abilities.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Looking back, three qualities that have been impactful in my journey are resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning.
Resilience has helped me navigate challenges and setbacks, allowing me to bounce back stronger. My advice is to embrace failures as learning opportunities and keep pushing forward.
Adaptability is crucial in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. Stay open to new ideas, technologies, and strategies. Be willing to adjust your approach and embrace change to stay relevant.
Continuous learning has been instrumental in my growth. Stay curious, seek out new knowledge, and invest in professional development. Embrace a growth mindset and never stop expanding your skill set.
For those starting their journey, my advice is to be patient and persistent. Success doesn’t happen overnight. Surround yourself with a supportive network, seek mentors, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Stay focused on your goals and stay true to your vision.
Remember, your journey is unique, and each experience, even the challenges, contributes to your growth. Embrace the process, believe in yourself, and keep striving for excellence.
