Meet Christina Dumas

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Christina Dumas. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Christina below.

Christina , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Yoga, skin care, and reciting positive affirmations in the mirror. Sometimes we make mistakes, it’s the human condition – we all share this. It’s about not making the same mistake again, life is for learning and wisdom in grace. Skin care is the ultimate grace, dating back to Cleopatra taking milk bathes, mastering the art of beauty. Yoga dropped my overactive monkey mind into my body. Body awareness was the pivotal point in my journey to confidence and self esteem. Seeing the beauty in all has a way of illuminating through your pores, touching on bliss body.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Thank you for asking. Professionally, I am curating yoga classes based on my book, Sutures of the Soul, and taking acting classes. Most recently launching Heart Vibe Yoga and Balanced Being Yoga at Vail Valley Wellness. Heart Vibe is for intermediate/advanced students to make the physical body and heart strong as well as open your heart to love others. Balance Being is beginner-friendly for overall balance and flexibility. I am writing every day.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Focus, faith, and the law of compound interest. Focus, where your focus goes, energy flows. The mind is a tool, when focused on the objective nothing can get in your way unless you choose to let it. Or make a mistake, in which you get up and try again. I believe it was Les Brown who said “if you can look up, you can get up.” That stuck with me. Faith is trusting the process of life, and God. Compound interest is when the interest is added back to the principal. Things I love, I visit daily. The things I love remind me of who I am.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

Hands down Louise Hay You Can Heal Your Life. The affirmations actually heal ailments in the body. The shift in mindset inspired me to believe in myself, move across the country, and world. Louise Hay’s work inspired my book, Sutures of the Soul. Biggest nugget: the mind creates breath, creating the body. Be profound with your word.
