Meet Christina Easton

We recently connected with Christina Easton and have shared our conversation below.

Christina, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I am a constant imposter, becasue I am always learning to master new things

I ‘ve always had a thirst to learn, and when we learn new things it can be overwhelming and anxiety can creep in. I used to get reactive and I would physical feel exhausted form these feelings. However, I would always push through and figure it out.

I also tied my worth to being succesful… talk about high expectations to “win” and “achieve” and always push through no matter what,

Becoming an entrepreneur I quickly realized that I was gonna have a lot of spaces and places where I was gonna have to be learning. I also knew I could keep have old patterned reactions to learning new things. So I decided to start listening to my body, when it started to alert me of overwhelm and stress. I gave myself space to sit with what I was feeling and practiced giving myself grace. Where I used to push through in a state of total nervous system dysregulation, I now began to allow myself the space to be a student, to know that I didn’t know everything, nor did I need to. My success didn’t come from pushing though, it came from being a willing learner and accepted that it might be hard to figure out, but that I would eventually figure it out and pushing through created less, not more.

Where I used to compare myself and not have confidence, hello imposter syndrome, I know have the confidence and acceptance of self to know that I am not an imposter, I am a student learning something new… and that is a beautiful thing

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Following ones entrepreneurial calling is a wild act of loving rebellion.

Cause, business ownership is empowering, expansive, and fulfilling, but sometimes it’s just plain scary and overwhelming.

And in the age of the Internet, entrepreneurial overwhelm tends to turn up to 11 when your website and systems aren’t serving you – sending you frantically Googling for tech support or simply frozen, feeling like an imposter.

That’s where I come in.

I help guide and support you with websites and automations, that help you stop wearing all the hats, and feel more confident in all that you are creating.

Listen, I know how overwhelming it can feel to start out in your entrepreneur journey. I have had many burn it to the ground moments, can you relate?

Often times it is the seemingly little things that we get caught up in. “How do I get a domain?” “What is a domain?” “How do I make a graphic in Canva?”

This is why I started a bi weekly office hours call called, Work It Wednesday. Anyone can come and it is FREE.

I’m available for an hour each call, and do my best to split the time between all participants.

It is a judgment-free zone. No question is too basic, and no problem is too small. It is all about support and helping you get untangled and feeling confident.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Being scared and doing it anyway
Being curious
Being empathetic

We all get scared at the idea of something new that impacts our lives, the financial impact, the peer judgement, fear of judgement… all the things.

It is in the doing it anyway that we experience, learn and have the opportunity to reflect.
“Be Curious, not judgemental” – That from which we judge we can not receive. Whether it is a lesson or it is abundance. Every experience, every circumstance is an opportunity to ask questions, to learn more. Be open to opportunity.
Be empathetic. We are all messy humans experiencing things for the first time. Be kind.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

Using their business as a vessel to embody their most authentic selves.
Feminine-style entrepreneurship – these ladies LOVE what they do and work hard AF, but they follow their flow and intuition to do so.
The feeling of compassion, helping, and empowerment with every person they collaborate with.
