We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christina King a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Christina, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from.Myy work ethic comes from my entrepreneurial family background. Both sides of my family have been involved in and created many different types of businesses, which showed me creativity, perseverance, and a commitment to success. It was so cool to grow up and see this. With such a legacy of determination, it was only a matter of time before I found the inspiration to start my own business. Entrepreneurship runs in my bloodline, providing me with a solid foundation, and a strong sense of drive.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you.
Currently, my business provides three distinct types of services. Primarily, I am a life coach, specializing in helping women make important decisions and taking action. The services I offer are unique, encompassing a multi-dimensional approach to coaching, which also includes cosmic consulting and personalized travel services. Specifically, I provide life coaching sessions, astrology services, and travel advising sessions. My offerings include personalized 1:1 astrology chart readings, 3-6 month life coaching packages, and one-off travel planning sessions where I handle the booking of trips and vacations for clients.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
If I had to identify three highly influential qualities that proved to be crucial on my journey, it would be community, education, and being committed to working on yourself. Firstly, having a supportive community and a group of individuals cheering you on is ideal. Secondly, investing in business courses that enriched my knowledge and taught me how to run a business was instrumental. Lastly, being committed to personal development is something that I learned, and something I implement often. Surrounding yourself with the right support group and network of friends and colleagues is key, expanding knowledge to broaden your skillset, and dedicating the time to improve yourself. Personal development work can be done through activities such as reading inspiring books, listening to podcasts, and collaborating with personal coaches. Of course, I believe this all needs to come from having a supportive community first. Once you have that foundation of a group who supports you, the other pieces will naturally fall into place. It all begins with you.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The book “Girl on Fire” by Cara Alwill played a significant role in my journey as a coach and business owner. It illuminated the notion that we don’t have to wait for permission, opportunities, or the perfect moment to pursue our goals. This book taught me how to choose myself in life and business, and not wait for anyone else to choose me. This shift gave me more power and autonomy over my life, career, and decisions. This insightful book taught me that we can proactively create our own opportunities, initiate collaborations with others, and embark on our own entrepreneurial ventures. For instance, in the publishing industry, authors now have an option to completely self-publish their books, instead of waiting for a publishing agency to choose their book to publish it. You can create that opportunity for yourself.
