Meet Christina Rogers

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christina Rogers a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Christina, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I was thrown into entrepreneurship after I decided to leave a serving job and I had no idea what I was doing. I think being in a space where I know nothing about the operation helped to break and mold me at the same time. I’ve always kept my goal at the forefront of everything that I’ve done, so I was able to build resilience from each failure in order to create a better future.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’ve always been a creative so I stay true to that title. When people ask me what I do, I lean on being a creator solely. More recently, I’ve pretty much defined myself as an innovator because I invented the Protective Mouth Grill. The Protective Mouth Grill is a new take on traditional mouth grillz in the respect that it has a protective layer on the inside of the metal. This layer acts as a barrier between the teeth and the metal allowing a safer and more hygienic experience for the user. This new area is extremely exciting because I’m able to be as creative as I possibly can and still move forward through entrepreneurship.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Over the years I have developed a method to my madness. I always like to have blinders on when I am creating. I block out all of the outside noise and I rarely look outside for validation. I think that’s very important when you are a creative in general. I also feel that doing research on your own does wonders for you as a person but mostly as an entrepreneur. More recently, I have learned the magic of taking breaks and truly living in the moment so that I can gather inspiration from my true self and not this creative version of myself. For anyone that’s early in their journey, I would strongly suggest that you don’t spend too much time trying to perfect something that you’re working on before you put it out there. The best way to do anything is to just do it.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
My favorite book in the whole entire world is, “The Science Of Getting Rich” by Wallace D. Wattles. This book completely changed my mind when it came to my relationship with money and also how I think about things. Before I read this book I was sort of living in a certain way, but when I got to the book and studied this book I was able to redefine and organize how I did things. Ever since then my life has changed in so many ways and I recommend this book to every single person who wants to succeed.

One thing for sure that this book taught me was to always have my end goal in mind no matter how the present looks.
