We were lucky to catch up with Christine Frey recently and have shared our conversation below.
Christine, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity comes from a strong desire to help as many people as I can before I leave this life. I believe that life is way too short, and I have experienced this life lesson many times within the last ten years of my life. When people close to me died unexpectedly, and when some died slowly while suffering, my eyes opened to the fact that life is more precious than most people realize. Strongly believing that the last half of my life is about spreading generosity, compassion, kindness and the honor to truly listen to people, is my passion. Time is the most precious gift we have and the desire to create safe space for someone so they can share their heartache, grief, traumas, joys and passions with me is an unbelievable gift that I do not take lightly. Every person I meet is a survivor and it is most definitely a pleasure and an honor to listen to someone without trying to fix them, judge them or evaluate them. I am truly blessed in my life and I have a burning desire to pay it forward to help others and to begin to create change in the world. Change begins with each and everyone of us, and I am standing in my power, truths and convictions so I can be light for others when they are enveloped in darkness.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My business is Centerpoint Healing Services based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I am a fully trained and initiated Shaman in the Q’ero tradition, as well as a Usui Reiki Master Teacher. My passion is working with survivors of trauma, addiction and recovery while they are healing with other mental, physical, emotional and spiritual modalities.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three areas of knowledge I found most impactful in my journey was trauma informed teachings, becoming a Shaman and continuing to develop my spiritual gifts. I believe that I need to continue to heal myself so I can be of service to others. Most people do not realize the level of self-care Shamans, Reiki practitioners and other energy workers need to practice. Creating safe space is essential to helping people feel safe, respected, valued and heard.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was to not heal themselves from their traumas. My parents died in a house fire ten years ago on my birthday, and that life-changing event forced me to begin my healing journey. I refuse to be stuck in the trauma cycles along with all of the collateral damage that goes with it for myself and everyone around me. Healing from this event was not easy, however it has taught me to get out of my own way, stop blaming others for my faults and to live bigger, and kinder, than ever before.
