Meet Christine Janelle “CJ” Osbrink

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christine Janelle “CJ” Osbrink a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Christine Janelle “CJ” , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Living and loving with purpose, on purpose, has always been a big part of my journey, especially, as a person who places my faith in Jesus. Growing up as the daughter of lead pastors who gave 27 years of their dedication to full-time ministry service, made me desire to be a minister in my own capacity, from the time I was a little girl. I believe we are all created with the purpose of worshipping the True Magic and Creative Creator: Father God, Son (Jesus/Yeshua) and Holy Spirit, through the generous use and stewardship of the gifts and talents He has given us uniquely! One of the most healing things we can learn, is that the pain we endure in life, becomes an opportunity, like a positive catalyst, leading us in the direction of our unique purpose and one of the most healing things we can do, is connect to the truth that both the darkest and most joyful moments of life are greater than ourselves, allowing us to uplift, validate and encourage others on life’s path. This is a powerful example of redemption and it gives our hearts hope! For me, losing my mom to Parkinson’s in my twenties, battling anxiety, depression and being bullied while in school, followed by a season of self-harm, caused me to search for deeper meaning in the mayhem of those moments, which only served to highlight how much I desired to help others who were hurting, too. This gave me the courage to fight to operate in my passion for my creative gifts, moving in the realm of artistry, as an opportunity to help others to see their own circumstances and situations in light of God’s personal love for them, in the details, as well as to infuse them with inspiration–the kind that deeply roots itself in embracing all the messy, beautiful pieces of our unique selves authentically, showing that it’s possible to overcome and to thrive, no matter what we face, because our heavenly Father never abandons us. This became my ministry and I share my message on Instagram! In fact, God Himself fights for us! Exodus 14:14 says: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.” Ultimately, that’s what moving through life in our purpose becomes: living art!! And art is always inspiring, because it reaches to the soul and heartbeat of humanity – reflecting the common themes of the human condition!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Four years ago on 4-4-21, I began moving in my giftedness, as a full-time artist and creative voice on Instagram @the.fourfour ! I introduce the arts, as a vehicle to share empowering, encouraging, faith-filled, positive and authentic messages about life’s ups and downs, relationships, romance and everything in between, by bridging the realms of natural and supernatural through the expression of emotion and passion – two things God has put inside of every human, allowing them to connect to deeper spiritual truth and personal identity. Passion and emotion are what I see as the “least common denominator” factors that unite us as a human race and give us the ability to feel, process and receive on a heart level; something that bypasses our head knowledge or the walls we often put up to self-protect, because of trauma or disappointment. I enjoy leveraging passion and emotion as a tool to communicate effectively. I’m able to then bridge the sacred and secular, the romantic and rational and unite people with eachother from God’s heart of unconditional, inclusive love for the world, all centered around key concepts from scripture, as they relate to real life and the journey we all are on, while on earth. It’s a joy and honor for me to operate in a ministry of reconciliation (a biblical mandate for followers of Christ) in a non-threatening and approachable capacity, that gives people the ability to see and feel God’s affection and grace for them in a fresh, inspiring, relevant way. I specifically use poetry, in a variety of styles, spoken word, performing and visual arts, modeling and song writing (as a lyricist), to storytell through creative demonstration. I’ve had the privilege over the last four years to do podcast episodes about faith, incorporating Bible teaching, as well as participating with voice-over, lyricism and background vocals work on Christian rap albums for @floeticdre (my friend, Andre, is Floetic Dre). I feel what I do is uniquely original, because it incorporates a lot of fusion artistry, including pioneering a series of dramatic arts face paint tributes to nations who have endured hardships or natural disasters, to give visibility to the need for artistic projects developed to address validation and crisis, as a form of social justice work. I intentionally put effort into making my presentations in any artistic genre as captivating, bold, engaging and vibrant as possible, which is something, along with quality and excellence, my @the.fourfour brand is known for, along with my emphasis on uplifting women and girls, which is a passion of mine, since being bullied and body shamed. The “four four” is actually a scripture reference, alluding to Ephesians 4:4, which is about unity, it says: “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called…”. Since 2022 I have released two poetry books as part of my “GODSPELL” series, with a third book coming soon. “GODSPELL VOL 1 – Modern Day Psalms” and “GODSPELL VOL 2 – Feminine Forces”, were written to encourage those with or without faith, and “GODSPELL VOL 2 – Feminine Forces” was specifically penned to encourage women and girls in their healthy identity. Both are available on Amazon Kindle. In 2024, I expanded my brand with a modeling account and a line of modeling art-prints for interior design purposes, in a female business partnership, where the artist takes my modeling photos and digitally adds layered effects, creating original works of art. We just released our fourth collection, with a nod to New York in a Dior ad style monochrome aesthetic of sophistication and elegance. All of the modeling art-prints collections have been featured on the prestigious online galleries Artmajeur, Artboxy, The Holy Art and PitturiAmo. My accounts highlights also include spiritual resources and encouragement, including an Instagram live prayer session, broken down topically.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are: vision, excellence and perseverance! Vision helps us see what’s “not yet”, but possible, pioneering, avant-garde and innovative. Excellence is a form of stewardship that encompasses doing everything to the best of our ability and with attention to detail. Love is part of excellence, because love is in the details! When we love what we do through excellence and we love others with excellence, we automatically become more captivating and standout. This connects to my faith in Jesus, because God is love. Excellence draws an audience; it gains respect and admiration. Perseverance teaches us not to give up and to become stronger and more equipped to face challenges, which are always a part of the journey. Those who can perservere, have an automatic advantage. These things are essential for those pursuing a creative lifestyle and who want to be successful at it. I define success as a creative artist not solely as a product of financial gain or celebrity visibility, but on a deeper level, a measure of how many individual lives and hearts I’m able to move, impact and change, as a result of my work. A life changed for the better, full of more love, purpose, identity and hope, is priceless and profoundly able to change other lives, paying it forward. This is how to affect grass-roots progress in society. Because the arts center around the power of leveraging passion and emotion, which are the two biggest influences in the lives of all humans, creative arts are an organic catalyst for momentum! Having vision, excellence and perseverance are distinguishing skills, essential for leading and serving others in life and in the creative arts realm. To improve upon these qualities, my advice to those starting their journey would be to surround yourself with the things and people who inspire you, because inspiration gives birth to vision. I also recommended engaging self-discipline, consistency and valuing quality over quantity, as a mindset and habit, in terms of execution of projects, tasks or assignments.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’ve had the joy of being a lyricist for a little over a year now, penning songs and gaining more knowledge about the process. Music is something I love that is close to my heart, as I grew up singing in church, with my father who was an accomplished vocalist, as well as in choir and musical theater. The realm of song has always been a huge source of inspiration and part of my creative process, as well. I’m always looking for quality collaboration with musicians/singers who need lyrics, or, who would enjoy putting music to and/or performing my original lyrics! My original song, “You Are”, is being prepped to hit Spotify and music streaming platforms soon and a few of my other songs are in development with musicians. I’m open to working with those who have high standards, valuing excellence and quality, in terms of their work ethic. More specifically, I’m looking for those who are highly creative and able to intuitively, authentically, interpret lyrics with the right musical framework and are capable of helping market and give any songs I create with them, visibility and distribution. I love good communication and mutual respect is key. I can be contacted through Instagram @the.fourfour @the.fourfour.backup @the.fourfour.modeling or, by email: [email protected] !
