Meet Christine Moore

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christine Moore a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Christine, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience is born from necessity. One of the things that has truly played a large roll in this is motherhood. I do not think there is a stronger thread to overcoming than that of being responsible for another human. As an eldering woman, I see my children in others. When I was in India I asked a sage how I can overcome being judgmental of others. All he said, and yet so profound was, “YOU are their mother.”

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My favorite offering currently is my Goddess Sister circles. I love bringing women together of many ages and in many places, the beauty of zoom. My circles offer a safe place to share or sit quietly. A large portion of my offering is teaching about Goddesses from the tantric and yogic lineages. Each one serves in a timely way to help us through the times we are in and reflects aspects of our self to unravel.

I aso offer yoga with story, mindfully moving through postures with enough time to self discover, which to me is the core of the yoga practice. Some of my sessions are more specific for veterans and cancer survivors. I am trained in accessible yoga and offer yoga to many varieties of body types and often elder yogis are drawn to my classes, though a variety ages may appear.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The 3 qualities that have been most impactful are
1. Lived experience, that make my offerings relatable.
2. Continuing to be a student, keeping it fresh and enlivened for myself and others.
3. India. Traveling to the heart of where my offerings are inspired from has given it the authentic richness my clients deserve.

The only advice I can offer is to do what you are passionate about and never stop seeing yourself as a beginner.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

We never know, do we? So I do try to live as if my time might end abruptly. Many of my dearest loves died young including my best friend and husband. That gave me an umderstanding of lifes shortness.

What I would do if I truly surrendered to this is travel a bit more. See more of the world and revisit India, where my heart is.
