Meet Christopher Moore

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christopher Moore a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher , you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

Where I get my generosity from is my grandfather. He is my role model in my life. His words of wisdom is something I think about and try to emulate. I also see everyone as the same. Yes we have our own story and depictions that make us different. However at the end the day were all human so why not be generous to one another.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Blu photography is a photography business based in Fort Collins, Colorado. Here at Blu photography we shoot it all. Some of our most popular gigs are fashion events; such as Denver Fashion Week and the Red Ball, birthday shoots, and designer campaign shoots. Our last designer campaign shoot was with Mark Shroyer designer of I’m Balby.
Something we also do as a photography business is host our own photoshoot events. One of our most popular events is our Halloween Shoot. We open our events to both photographers and models to attend. Its a great way to network as well as meet faces in the same industry. Last year the theme of the shoot was Creepy Tea Party. Every came in their best Gothic Victorian Dress. Currently were working on this years theme. Looking to attend? Stay tuned.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three skills I’ve found impactful thus far on my journey are social skills, legal skills ( such as understanding and making contracts, or filing a business), as well as editing skills.
Advice I would have for someone early in their journey is insuring that they focus on their social media presence. Social media has became a primary tool to anyone’s success today. You can reach people from around the world with it. So don’t limit yourself to just word of mouth.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

Someone that has helped me overcome all my challenges thus far with starting a photography business has been my business partner and girlfriend Quatia. She is truly the backbone of this business. She’s what’s keeps our social media presence alive because I hate posting. Its one of my least favorite things as a photographer. She relieves that stress for me. Without her there would be no Blu photography.
