Meet Christopher Nemeth

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christopher Nemeth a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?

As an esthetician, self-care is both personal and professional. I regularly test different modalities and products on myself, from professional devices to custom mask mixologies and peels. It’s my way of staying connected to the treatments I offer and making sure I truly understand how they feel, perform, and benefit the skin.

Trying these techniques firsthand has had a big impact on my effectiveness. It helps me make more informed decisions when customizing facials, and it allows me to speak from real experience—not just theory. Clients appreciate that I’ve done the work to see what delivers results and what doesn’t. It builds trust, deepens my knowledge, and ensures I’m always evolving with intention.

I also never gatekeep my product favorites. If I recommend something, it’s because I’ve used it, believe in it, and know it can benefit their skin. I don’t push products just to sell—I won’t recommend anything I wouldn’t personally use or that a client doesn’t actually need.

Most importantly, this approach reminds me why I do what I do. I’ve been on the other side—struggling with my own skin and unsure of what actually worked. So caring for my own skin isn’t just self-care—it’s staying aligned with my mission to help others feel confident in theirs.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m the founder and sole esthetician behind Come and Glo, a salon suite located inside Phenix Salon Suites in Glendale, CA. With over 13 years of experience in the skincare industry, I’ve made it my mission to help people feel confident in their skin through personalized, results-driven facials. I proudly use Eminence Organic Skin Care throughout my services.

What sets Come and Glo apart is the level of customization and attention I bring to each client. Every treatment begins with a thoughtful consultation, and no two facials are exactly alike. I offer a range of targeted enhancements—like LED therapy, microdermabrasion, microcurrent, and organic peels—that can be added on to further address concerns such as acne, aging, and dullness. And I love educating clients along the way.

The most rewarding part of my work is helping people feel more confident in their skin. As someone who struggled with cystic acne, I know how much a consistent, personalized skincare routine can impact not just your appearance, but your overall self-esteem.

I recently celebrated my second business anniversary, and just in time for summer, I’m excited to launch something new—Back to GLOry, a signature back facial designed to treat breakouts, texture, dryness, and dullness in one of the most overlooked areas of the body. This 60-minute treatment includes a deep double cleanse, exfoliation, extractions, a targeted mask, and skin-specific finishing products to restore clarity and radiance.

And because I’m always looking for ways to take your GLO to the next level, I’m also introducing a brand-new enhancement: LED GLO from Head to Toe—a full-body red and infrared LED light therapy available exclusively with the back facial. This add-on helps reduce inflammation, ease muscle tension, boost circulation, and enhance skin radiance. It also stimulates collagen, softens fine lines, fades dark spots, and supports faster healing—for total-body relaxation and serious skin benefits.

Whether it’s your first facial or your fiftieth, I want every client to leave Come and Glo feeling seen, cared for, and glowing—inside and out.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three most important qualities that shaped my journey have been truly listening, always being willing to learn, and getting comfortable with being uncomfortable.

-Listening was something I had to develop over time-not just hearing my clients’ skin concerns, but listening to their stories, their struggles, and what they’re not always saying out loud. I’ve learned that sometimes people just want to feel seen and understood, and when you create that kind of space, trust follows. And with trust comes better results— not just in skin, but in the overall experience.

-Always being willing to learn has been a cornerstone of my growth. I didn’t have a straight path into this industry-I struggled with cystic acne myself and that led me to esthetics. Over the years, l’ve attended trainings, made mistakes, asked questions, and kept studying ingredients, skin conditions, and new techniques. Even now, with over a decade of experience, I still learn something new every week. The minute you think you know everything is the minute you stop growing.

-Being comfortable with being uncomfortable was probably the hardest but most rewarding lesson. Opening my own business, working solo, and putting myself out there-whether through social media, education, or in the treatment room-was scary. But I realized that growth only happens when you push through fear. Every time l’ve taken a leap, even when I didn’t feel fully ready, it’s brought me closer to where I want to be.
For anyone just starting out: don’t rush the process. Listen more than you talk. Stay curious and open to learning. And when something feels uncomfortable—lean in. That’s where the magic happens.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My boyfriend Zachary has been the most helpful and supportive person in my journey. He’s been there for me since day one—through every high and low. When I made the decision to go back to school to become an esthetician, he was right by my side, cheering me on and encouraging me every step of the way. He believed in me even when I wasn’t sure of myself, and that kind of support is something I’ll always be thankful for.

Launching my business came with a lot of challenges, but Zachary was right there through it all. He helped me figure out the logistics, kept me focused when things got hectic, and reminded me why I started. Whether it was calming me down during stressful moments or helping me turn ideas into action, he never hesitated to step in and support me in whatever way I needed.

He’s always been my biggest cheerleader—celebrating every win, no matter how small, and reminding me of my strength during the setbacks. His encouragement, patience, and belief in what I’m building have helped shape not only my career but also my confidence. I wouldn’t be where I am today without him—and I’m beyond grateful.
