Meet Christy Bennett

We recently connected with Christy Bennett and have shared our conversation below.

Christy, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I keep it alive by making sure I focus on multiple projects or hobbies. It helps my mind grow and helps me branch out into more creative outlets. Plus, it helps me avoid burnout. If I start to get somewhat burnout on one thing, I take a break from it and move on to another project.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a self-published author. I mainly write cyberpunk stories which the cyberpunk genre is underneath the science fiction umbrella. I love writing about dystopian cities and what society is like in it. I published my first book on Amazon. It is titled, Behind Streetkid’s Eyes where the story talks about mental health and how society views it. I am also in progress of working on a second book.

On the side, I do cosplaying. I have been cosplaying for over 10 ye and love dressing up and becoming that character.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The most impactful moment was finishing my first book. There’s nothing like feeling accomplished than finishing a book because back in the day, I would get burnt out and leave writing incomplete, but I just plucked at it slowly and surely. My advice is to slowly go at it and take that day off to avoid burnout. Even when working on a project, take small breaks here and there.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Well, I eventually want to turn my book, Behind Streetkid’s Eyes into a graphic novel. I would love to have a second set of eyes script wise and of course, a comic artist to work with. They can connect with me through my social media accounts or email. My inbox is always open to those who are interested on wanting to collaborate. I am also open to any new ideas and feedback also.
