Meet Ciara Zurita-Jackson

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ciara Zurita-Jackson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Ciara, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

I got my work ethic from my dad. My dad was a hard worker until the day he passed away. He worked long overnight hours to put food on the table. He also was a mechanic on the side, which I always thought it was because he enjoyed being a mechanic, but it was a way that he provided for his family. I have always had drive, dedication, and passion for what I do. My work ethic has always been something that I have been proud of.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I started content creating about a year ago. I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur, and I have always tried different side hustles, however, some wood flop, and some wouldn’t stick the way I thought they would. It wasn’t until 2024 that I found my passion and I found my voice. I started documenting my debt free journey when I was in over $305,000 of debt and I had no way of paying it off. I decided to be transparent with not only friends and family, but the entire world on my own financial situation throughout that journey, I was diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety, depression. I also started learning as much as I could about finances because I realize that I wasn’t the only one in debt around me. A lot of people would not talk about this topic so it was really hard to find resources on how to get myself out of the situation that I put myself in. I decided to research how to lower interest rates, how to lower minimum payments, how to increase credit scores, how to maximize your tax refund, how to make money on social media, and how to help others in the process. Not only was I becoming the entrepreneur. I always wanted to be, but I was helping myself and helping others get out of the whole that they thought they couldn’t get out of. I built tools to help people budget, pay off debt, and create an emergency fund for the first time in their lives. I have paid over $60,000 of credit card debt in just one year and hundreds have also paid off their debt. I have no found my passion and I would now be offering one on one sessions to help people budget, create a debt-free plan, and catch up on retirement. I am teaching Latinas, young moms, and anyone who wishes they were taught about finances growing up.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three most important qualities skills and or areas of knowledge is number one always ask questions and always become a student. Do not be someone that learns just to learn. Implement what you have learned, take action and if you have an idea, act on it. The faster you act on it, the faster you can make the mistakes you need to make in order to perfect what you have created. Second, I have always put The People first in anything I do. I will always be a helping hand for anybody that needs help. I have always been resourceful and I am able to help those that may not be as resourceful, but they want help and they want change. Lastly, a skill that was most impactful on my journey, is being able to be strategic and think outside of the box and find solutions for problems that were far beyond my comprehension. For example, we tried to get advice from the best financial advisor and they recommended bankruptcy. People may look at their finances and think that bankruptcy or a debt consolidation program are the only options. However, before anyone makes the decisions that could possibly affect them for the next 10 years, talk to me and let me see what I could do for you.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I am wanting to get my brand out there more and be able to help people that may feel hopeless in their situation. Not only do I want to help the people in the community that I grew up in which is the south east side of San Antonio, I want to help everybody in San Antonio, and everybody in Texas, and everybody in the United States that may deal with financial issues. I am able to help people bring in extra income, budget that income in a way that works for you, and fix all of the past financial mistakes you may have made. I am willing to share what I have learned from my mistakes. That way you won’t make the same mistakes I did. I am willing to help everyone of all ages. It is never too late or never too early to get your financial ducks in a row. My name is ciarastrynabudget on all platforms and my email is [email protected]
