Ciera, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
While growing up, my parents always displayed a great work ethnic for my siblings and myself. They would always tell us to treat people the way you wanted to be treated. This goes for everyday living, in a work environment, having your own business and or being among others.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hi! My name is Ciera Thomas. I am the founder and owner of CoolSCHoolLearning, LLC ®. CoolSCHoolLearning, LLC ® started as a business that creates printable learning resources for early learners in the year of 2020. The printable learning resources are a way to help little ones’ learn efficiently and for parents, guardians and or teachers to print for easy access. As the business grew, I attained a mentor to expand CoolSCHoolLearning, LLC ® that would help little ones’ and elementary students. Then, we started providing tutoring services for ages 5 – 10 years old. Our services include the following: Reading, Writing (ages 5 – 10 yrs. old) and a Little Ones’ Online Tutoring Program for ages 5 – 6 years old. Our Little Ones’ Online Tutoring Program includes educational assistance for the following: alphabets, numbers, counting, shapes, colors, addition, subtraction, days of the week, months of the year and sight words.
At a young age, I watched my mom own and operate her daycare and learning center for 20 years. She always told me I was going to be a teacher but I didn’t know at the time how. So, here I am years later being and fulfilling not only what she said but also what I enjoy doing most of all.
Being able to help kids by learning in a way he or she can understand brings complete joy to me. Sometimes, children don’t want to express how they feel as learning can sometimes be overwhelming for them. As they continue to learn, I am able to reach them by explaining a better way that will boost his or her understanding and provide strategies that have quality proven results for success.
CoolSCHoolLearning, LLC ® is also expanding reaching children all over the world with our YouTube Learning Channel. Our channel contains free learning resources for little ones’ and teaches them how to read with our read aloud short stories. We will continue to expand to help kids learn and have fun doing it.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
In this journey, being able to step out and provide a solution to a need is very impactful. As a person that once didn’t speak out much, I had to push myself to give what was inside of me to help kids in learning in education. The more I saw areas of where children were not getting the help needed for success, something had to be done. Once I realized I was able to provide a solution, I was able to reach many children with CoolSCHoolLearning, LLC ® printable learning resources, tutoring services and on our YouTube Learning Channel with positive results from clients, parents and teachers! Therefore, having the self confidence to step out, believe in myself and trust the process for establishing CoolSCHoolLearning, LLC ® was and still is all worth it!
Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Our strengths play a part in how we go about things but so do our weaknesses. Going all in on your strengths may be good but can also be tiring. In order to prevent that, investing in help from others that are where you want to go in life would be beneficial. It will also help strengthen your weaknesses. In order to grow, you must invest in yourself and value your time. It’s okay to ask for help; assistance will be needed in order to grow. As for CoolSCHoolLearning, LLC ®, having a mentor to direct me played a major part. We can’t do it all alone.
