Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cindy Witteman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Cindy, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
I believe my generosity stems from my humble beginnings. Growing up, I often lacked basic necessities—there were times when we didn’t have running water or electricity, and we faced frequent evictions. If we had a vehicle, it was never for long due to repossessions. Poverty was a constant in my family’s history, which made me wonder how others managed to have the things we didn’t. Along the way, so many people extended a helping hand—whether it was sharing their lunch, giving me clothes, or offering advice on how to build a successful future and break the cycle of generational poverty. These experiences shaped the generosity I now feel in my heart and inspired me to help others, especially through the nonprofit I founded 7 and a half years ago, Driving Single Parents, which aims to provide single parents with a family vehicle at no cost to them.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a passionate and purpose-driven leader based in San Antonio, Texas. As the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of FORCE Magazine, a business owner, and a 4x best-selling author, I’m dedicated to creating positive change and telling impactful stories. My work has been honored with the 2023 International Impact Book Award, the Trailblazer Award, and the 2024 International Impact Book Award for my solo book, *Beyond the Smile*.
I also host the “Little Give” TV Show and the “Is Manifesting Bullshit” podcast, where I share insights and inspire transformation. As an entrepreneur, action mastery coach, speaker, and beekeeper, I wear many hats, each one giving me the chance to connect with people in meaningful ways.
Family is at the heart of everything I do. I deeply cherish time spent with my blended family of six children, two grandsons, and two granddaughters. Whether we’re exploring new destinations or simply enjoying quiet moments together, these experiences are incredibly precious to me.
In 2017, I founded Driving Single Parents Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to helping single parents regain their independence. Through this organization, my team and I have provided reliable vehicles to single-parent families, empowering them to overcome challenges and achieve their dreams.
My mission is to spread hope and make a difference, one little give at a time. For more about my work, visit DrivingSingleParents.org, tune in to the “Little Give” TV Show at LittleGive.com, or explore my other projects at CFViews.com.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Leadership and Vision: I’ve founded and led multiple successful ventures, including FORCE Magazine, the Little Give TV Show, and Driving Single Parents Inc. My ability to envision and bring projects to life, guiding them to success, showcases my strong leadership.
2. Storytelling and Communication: As a 4x best-selling author, podcast host, and TV show host, I’ve honed my talent for storytelling and effectively communicating ideas. I’ve mastered the art of connecting with people through impactful narratives and inspiring messages.
3. Empathy and Compassion: My work with Driving Single Parents Inc. and my focus on creating positive change reflect a deep sense of empathy and compassion. This allows me to genuinely understand and respond to the needs of others, making a meaningful difference in their lives.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My dad has always been the one to offer me unbiased advice, believing in me even more than I believed in myself. He’s never hesitated to tell me when I’m wrong and explain why, just as he does when I’m right. He’s also invested a lot of time teaching me how to think outside the box.
