Meet Cirah Wilkinson

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cirah Wilkinson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Cirah, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I got my work ethic from my parents, I was raised in a lower middle class family so I saw first hand the rewards of working hard. I carried that into my business, I work the hardest for my clients and myself.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I opened and solely run my own hair removal studio. As the owner and solo esthetician I can dedicate more time with each client than big chains which allows me to customize every service to the individual need of each client, as well as build a relationship. When I opened my own studio I wanted clients to feel like I was appreciating them by holding space and gratitude for the fact that this is a vulnerable and a little weird the first time you come in for a wax or sugar. I use only the highest quality hypoallergenic wax and sugar, I give you homecare products for free at your first appointment and I love to educate on proper homecare so you have the best results! I have recently added professional teeth whitening and tooth gems to my repertoire, I am excited to launch those this month.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Never stop learning, never give up, give back as much as you are given.
You can never learn too much about your chosen field, things change so much you always want to stay on the razors edge (pun intended) of new techniques. This journey is a long one sometimes, just keep pushing! It will pay off. Most importantly, give back, we all rise together or we all fall together.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

Hit the gym, put your feet in the dirt, or take a cold plunge. Its hard to think about anything else when you’re standing on a deadlift platform lifting heavy weights, you can feel so connected and grounded when you are immersed in nature, and nothing clears my mind better than being absolutely freezing cold for 3 minutes.
