Meet CJ Cannon

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful CJ Cannon a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

CJ , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
A lot of hard work and sleepless nights. Finding ways to overcoming everything life throws at me and just knowing the content I can create for teams or a specific player will help take their brand to the next level

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Ever since my Mom & Grandma told me to invest in a camera at our back to school family cookout , I fell in love with photography & telling a story through a camera lens. It first started out as a hobby going to the music in the club, flaming Greek life, or just capturing moments of my friends, it quickly turned into my passion. I knew I wanted to focus on sports photography since sports has always been a huge part of my life. I was able to perfect my craft while volunteering for the “The East Texan” newspaper at school where I started shooting my first college games, that eventually lead to me completing a photography internship at the University of Denver working with their Men’s Basketball team back in 2018. After my internship I knew i wanted to focus more on working with teams and building brands for athletes to help take their brand to the next level.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three things that were and still is impactful on my journey 1)Staying the course
2)Find a way to be better than yesterday
3)Out working the competition

the advice I would give is Shoot anytime you can the only way to get better is to shoot. 2) Business wont boom with minimum wage work ethic

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
The biggest challenge that I am currently facing is navigating ways to take my business to the next level. My goal is to produce content across all sports for a school as well as a business.
