Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Claire Dew. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Claire , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic is deeply rooted in the example set by my mother and in my faith. Watching my mom raise four daughters on her own, while also building a business from our kitchen into a thriving company, showed me what resilience truly looks like. She met every challenge head-on, gaining new skills, taking courses, and securing certifications—all to keep moving forward, no matter what others might have expected or assumed.
There are days when I feel my strength slipping, and it’s my faith in God that lifts me up. It has guided me into directions I never thought possible and kept me humble through both challenges and successes. In tough times, my faith gives me hope, and in good times, it reminds me to stay grounded. I feel fortunate to have both my mom’s example and my faith as cornerstones in my life, helping me work with purpose and resilience, no matter the situation.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m the Founder and CEO of Dew Media Productions (DMP), where I get to oversee everything we do as an executive producer. We take on a wide range of projects, from live-action to animation, and honestly, that variety is one of the most exciting parts of what we do. Every project I work on has to feel like something I’m genuinely connected to—if it doesn’t resonate with me, it’s just not the right fit. I’ve learned that when you focus on what really speaks to you, the work becomes so much more meaningful.
One thing I’ve embraced is the idea of working with purpose. In the words of Biggie, “Only make moves when your heart’s in it.” I live by that. There’s so much pressure to stay busy all the time, even when your heart’s not in the work, but I’ve stepped away from that mindset. Instead, I focus on projects that inspire me, and that shift has brought me this amazing sense of balance. It’s allowed me to create, earn a living, and live my life in a way that feels fulfilling and aligned.
For me, DMP is like my little corner of the world where I get to tell stories that matter, work on things I love, and hopefully inspire others along the way. It’s a beautiful cycle, and I’m so grateful to be able to do what I love every day.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three most impactful lessons in my journey came from distinct stages of failure: what I learned going into it, what I learned during it, and what I vowed never to repeat after coming out of it. Each stage of those difficult situations taught me something invaluable, and while the process can feel like a punch to the gut, it ultimately ushered in the kind of growth that I now see as essential.
Growing pains are real, and in the business world, they often show up as failures. But failure isn’t the end—it’s part of the process. When you align yourself with your passion and chase after it, those missteps are humbling experiences that help you uncover blind spots, build resilience, and refine your craft. I’ve learned that setbacks are not the universe closing doors on your dreams—they’re lessons you need to learn to move forward, as long as you’re willing to stay accountable to your vision.
For those just starting out, my advice is this: don’t fear failure—embrace it as a teacher. Approach your journey with humility, and be ready to take accountability not just for your successes, but for your missteps too. Growth isn’t easy, and it certainly doesn’t feel good in the moment, but it’s the only way to truly develop the skills, knowledge, and character needed to thrive in success.
