Meet Clark Vincent

We were lucky to catch up with Clark Vincent recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Clark, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I’ve realized that I am resilient by the challenges that I’ve face in the past that I’ve either worked through, overcome with help from others that I had to ask for help from and trusting in prayer and faith. Praying and having faith have kept me resilient.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My love for hair began 40 years ago at the age of 12, my mother realized that I had a passion for hair and gifted me 3 pair of Marcel Curling Irons that she had stored in a Drawer in the Kitchen and thats where I 1st began styling hair for family members and neighbors 40 yrs later I still have a love for the art of hair design as well as Makeup Artistry. Over the course of my Career I’ve had the opportunity to work with many Major Celebrities and Household Brands As well as working on Broadway and A few television series. Currently I am working on the Production of a Traveling Museum Exhibition of Outstanding Eminent Black Womens that are Trail Blazers and Iconic in their Field. From Astronauts to Female Boxers

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back over the years, i’m grateful for learning to work with multiple textures of hair and skin tones. Starting out in cosmetology school I focused on African American hair textures because that was the demographic in my area at the time. I’m also grateful for emotional intelligence and being able to relate to people being that you are always interacting with groups of people and 3rd I’m grateful to still believe in the worth and value of the skills I have to offer. So my advice to someone coming into this industry would be to always stay open to new possibilities, continue to be open to learning new skills and know your worth.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am definitely looking to collaborate with other creatives in need of hair and or makeup talent ei Producers Directors Creative Directors etc. If looking to connect or contact feel free to email me @ ClarkVincentBeauty@gmail.com or Clarkshairnface01@gmail.com
