Claude Ce’Ross , thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

I keep my creativity alive by keeping it active, i sell some, i trade some, i give away some freely. As long as can breathe i will be creative, My creativity is my therapy, my medication and my motivation.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a jamaican singer, song writer, visual actor and artist but I generally refer to my self as a creative. the special thing about what I do is I don’t limit my self creatively, today I might be editing a video, tomorrow I’m in a writing session with a singer. my intention is to contribute to the cultural and creative industry in jamaica.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Adaptability: My ability to navigate multiple artistic disciplines, from music to visual art to acting, demonstrates a high degree of creativity and adaptability. These skills have allowed me to approach challenges from unique angles and find innovative solutions.
Advice: focus on developing your creative problem-solving skills. Engage in activities that challenge your thinking, such as brainstorming session or improvisational session . and stay updated with technology.

2. Collaboration and Communication: My experience working with other artists, writers, and producers highlights the importance of effective collaboration and communication. These skills have helped me build strong relationships, negotiate creative decisions, and bring complex projects to life.
Advice: Develop strong collaboration and communication skills, seek out opportunities to work with others on creative projects. Practice active listening, ask questions, and be clear about your own needs and expectations. Learn to navigate conflicts and disagreements in a constructive manner.
3. Authenticity: My connection to Jamaica’s sound system era and my commitment to honoring my cultural heritage demonstrate the importance of cultural awareness and authenticity. These qualities have helped me stay grounded in my artistic vision and connect with audiences on a deeper level.
Advice: Take the time to explore and understand your own cultural heritage and how it influences your art. Be authentic and true to your unique perspective, and avoid appropriating or mimicking others’ cultural expressions.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

As a multifaceted artist, I’m always excited to meet like-minded individuals who share my passion for creative expression and innovation. Here are the sorts of folks I’m looking to collaborate with:
Musicians and Producers
– Reggae, dancehall, and Afrobeat artists who want to blend traditional styles with modern flavors
– Producers who can help me create fresh, boundary-pushing sounds
Visual Artists and Filmmakers
– Directors and cinematographers who can help me bring my music videos and short films to life, or help to improve my acting skills.
