We were lucky to catch up with Claudia Cabrera recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Claudia , thank you so much for agreeing to open up about a sensitive and personal topic like being fired or laid-off. Unfortunately, there has been a rise in layoffs recently and so your insight and experience with overcoming being let go is relevant to so many in the community.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, I found myself facing the uncertainty of a lost job. However, this setback became the catalyst for me to start my own consulting business. Leveraging my experience in customer relationship management from working in state-wide companies, I learned to work smarter, not harder. As a Latin person myself, I recognized the challenges faced by others in navigating paperwork and documentation, which led me to focus on filling out forms for Latin individuals.
With unwavering determination, I rapidly scaled my revenue and achieved the ultimate definition of the American Dream for me: working for myself and experiencing true freedom. Beyond financial success, my journey was driven by a deep desire to make a difference in the lives of Latin families. Guided by empathy and a genuine care for their needs, I empowered others by alleviating their burdens and guiding them towards a brighter future.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I´ve provided assistance to Latin individuals in a wide range of paperwork, including immigration, state aid, company documentation, and more. However, my focus has now shifted towards working with business owners, as I believe they possess tremendous creative power. I am passionate about collaborating with individuals who are dedicated to building a better future for themselves and their families. My goal is to establish a network of Latin entrepreneurs by sharing valuable insights and effective strategies for business funding.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My expertise in customer service, financial strategy, and effective communication enables me to assist individuals facing challenges in navigating complex procedures or time constraints. By understanding various systems and communicating efficiently, I provide valuable support and guidance, making a significant difference in their lives.
For young people, my advice is to invest time in understanding how things work. Information and attention are powerful assets that, when used wisely, lead to informed decision-making and success. By educating themselves about different processes and systems, they can confidently navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and pursue their goals with clarity and purpose. Harnessing the power of information and attention as strategic tools sets them on a path towards a brighter future.
How would you describe your ideal client?
Our ideal clients are Latin individuals who are proactive and take decisive action. They take responsibility for their actions and have a strong sense of accountability. They possess clear goals and are open-minded, willing to understand and implement the correct strategies to access business funding successfully.
