I believe my resilience is deeply rooted in my Portuguese heritage, culture, and upbringing. Growing up in a culture that values hard work, family, and determination shaped me into someone who never gives up, no matter the challenge.
My inner strength has been forged through years of facing adversity. Moving to new countries, integrating into new communities, and starting fresh countless times have taught me adaptability, perseverance, and the power of believing in myself. Every challenge I’ve faced has been a stepping stone, building my character and reinforcing my drive to succeed.
I’m a go-getter by design—someone who sees obstacles as opportunities for growth. My experiences have taught me that resilience isn’t just about enduring tough times but about embracing them and emerging stronger on the other side. This mindset, paired with the values instilled in me by my Portuguese roots, is what keeps me moving forward, no matter where life takes me.

Thank you for the opportunity to share my story! I’m Claudia Da Silva, a proud Portuguese native, and I lead the Palm Leaf Realty Group in The Woodlands, TX, sponsored by Coldwell Banker Realty. Our team specializes in real estate services across Houston and Portugal, offering a warm, seamless, and personalized approach to buying, selling, and relocating.
Real estate is more than a profession for me—it’s a way to create lasting connections and help people achieve their dreams. What I find most exciting about my work is the privilege of guiding clients through some of the most significant decisions of their lives. Whether it’s helping a first-time buyer unlock the door to their first home or assisting international clients in finding their perfect property in Portugal, each journey is unique and deeply rewarding.
One of the most special aspects of what we do is the global perspective we bring. As someone who has lived in multiple countries and embraced diverse cultures, I understand the challenges and opportunities of relocating, especially internationally. This experience allows me to connect with clients on a deeper level and provide tailored solutions for their needs.
Currently, I’m focused on expanding our services, particularly in Portugal, where we’re helping clients discover hidden gems outside Lisbon and Porto. We’ve built a robust network of agents, property managers, lawyers, and concierge services to ensure every client feels supported at every step. In 2025, I’m excited to host a curated trip to Portugal, where clients will explore cities, meet experts, and visit stunning real estate developments.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back on my journey, three key qualities and skills have been the most impactful: adaptability, relationship-building, and a commitment to lifelong learning. These have shaped my personal growth and professional success in profound ways.
1. Adaptability:
Moving to different countries, starting fresh in new communities, and navigating cultural differences taught me the importance of flexibility and resilience. The ability to adapt to new situations, embrace change, and find solutions in unfamiliar circumstances has been invaluable. For those just starting out, I’d encourage stepping out of your comfort zone. Challenge yourself to try new things, meet different people, and embrace situations that push your boundaries—you’ll be amazed at how much you grow.
2. Relationship-Building:
Real estate is a relationship business, and my ability to connect with people has been a cornerstone of my success. Building genuine, trust-filled relationships takes effort, empathy, and consistency, but it’s worth every moment. My advice? Always prioritize authenticity. Listen more than you speak, show up for people when it matters, and focus on providing value without expecting anything in return. Relationships are the foundation of any successful career.
3. Lifelong Learning:
The world is constantly evolving, and staying informed has been critical to remaining relevant and effective in my work. Whether it’s understanding market trends, mastering new technologies, or improving communication skills, I’ve always approached learning as a never-ending journey. For those early in their careers, invest in yourself—read, attend workshops, seek mentorship, and remain curious. The more you learn, the more value you can offer to those around you.
Starting a new journey can feel overwhelming, but focusing on these areas can set you apart and help you build a strong foundation. Stay open to growth, nurture your relationships, and never stop learning. Success is a process, and every step forward is a victory in itself.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
One book that has profoundly impacted my development is The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino. This book was introduced to me by my first career coach, and I remember being so captivated by its wisdom that I read it cover to cover in just a few hours. Since then, it has become a cornerstone of my daily life—I either read or listen to it on Audible every single day. It’s a timeless resource that I’ve shared with countless others, knowing the value it can bring to anyone on their journey.
What makes this book so special is how it weaves universal truths into practical lessons for both personal and professional growth. A few nuggets of wisdom that have stuck with me include:
“I will persist until I succeed”: This principle has been a guiding force in my life, reminding me that persistence and resilience are the keys to overcoming challenges. It’s about never giving up, no matter how tough things may seem.
“I am nature’s greatest miracle”: This phrase is a powerful reminder of our unique potential and worth. It’s taught me to focus on my strengths, embrace my individuality, and believe in my ability to create impact.
The power of habits: The book emphasizes forming positive habits through consistent action, which has shaped how I approach both my personal and professional life. Small, purposeful actions compound into meaningful results over time.
