Meet Claudia La Bianca

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Claudia La Bianca. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Claudia below.

Claudia , thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

My love for art and the creative process are the significant source of my optimism. The joy of exploring new ideas and bringing my vision to life fuels my enthusiasm and keeps me excited about each project.

Reflecting on my previous accomplishments is a powerful motivator, these moments of success boost my confidence and inspire me to tackle new challenges.

Definitely, the encouragement and support of fellow artists, mentors, friends, and family provides a strong foundation for my optimism. Being part of a creative community where I can share ideas and receive constructive feedback helps reinforce my belief in my abilities.

An optimistic artist often embraces a growth mindset, understanding that every experience, successful or not, is an opportunity to learn and improve. This outlook allows me to view setbacks as stepping stones toward mastery, rather than as failures.

To know that my art can inspire, uplift, or resonate with others is an incredible source of optimism, that my work has the potential to bring joy, provoke thought, or make a difference in someone’s life drives me to keep creating.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

As a multimedia artist, muralist, sculptor, award-winning filmmaker, and fashion designer, what excites me most is the incredible diversity and flexibility these roles offer. Each discipline provides a unique canvas to express my creativity and explore new ideas.

The most special aspect is the ability to tell stories and evoke emotions through multiple mediums. Whether it’s painting vibrant murals that transform public spaces, sculpting tangible forms that bring ideas to life, directing films that captivate audiences, or designing fashion that becomes wearable art, each avenue allows me to connect with people in different ways.

Being able to seamlessly shift between these creative fields gives me a broader perspective and a constant source of inspiration. I can draw insights from one medium and apply them to another, leading to innovative combinations and unexpected outcomes. This versatility also keeps my work fresh and continuously evolving, ensuring there’s always something new to explore.

Another aspect I find exciting is the impact my work can have. Whether it’s inspiring a community with a mural, evoking deep emotions through film, or empowering individuals through fashion, there’s a real sense of purpose in what I do. The ability to make a positive difference and leave a lasting impression is what makes this journey so fulfilling.

Ultimately, what I find most special about being a multimedia artist is the freedom to create without boundaries and the opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life. It’s a dynamic and rewarding experience that constantly challenges and inspires me.

I’m currently in the process of writing a script for my new film. This project has me diving deep into the world of storytelling, crafting characters, and shaping the narrative. It’s an exciting and challenging journey as I work to create a screenplay that is both engaging and impactful.

Developing a script allows me to merge my visual and narrative skills, creating a blueprint for a film that will resonate with audiences. I’m looking forward to sharing this new project and can’t wait to see how it evolves from the page to the screen.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Versatility and Adaptability: Being able to switch seamlessly between different artistic mediums has been crucial. As a multimedia artist, I work with murals, sculptures, films, and fashion, so the ability to adapt and apply my creativity across diverse formats has given me a unique edge. This versatility allows me to explore a broader range of ideas and create more complex and multi-faceted projects.

2. Storytelling Ability: Whether through visuals, dialogue, or design, storytelling is at the heart of my work. Crafting compelling narratives that resonate with audiences is a skill that has been instrumental in my success. This ability to connect with people through stories enables me to engage viewers on an emotional level, whether it’s through a mural that transforms a public space or a film that captures a powerful moment.

3. Collaboration and Networking: Building strong relationships with other creatives, industry professionals, and audiences has played a significant role in my journey. Collaboration opens doors to new opportunities, perspectives, and learning experiences. Networking allows me to share my work with a broader audience and receive valuable feedback, which helps me grow as an artist. Being open to collaboration and actively engaging with the artistic community has been key to my development and success.

These three qualities—versatility, storytelling, and collaboration—have shaped my artistic journey and continue to drive me forward. They allow me to explore new avenues, create meaningful work, and connect with others in impactful ways.

my advice to others who are early in their journey is to approach your creative journey with curiosity and a willingness to learn. Focus on versatility by experimenting with different forms of art, strengthen your storytelling skills through practice and study, and build collaborative relationships by connecting with others in your field. By embracing these principles, you’ll set a strong foundation for growth and success in your artistic journey.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

As a multimedia artist, I’m always on the lookout for diverse and creative collaborations. The types of entities, brands, and partners I want to work with are those that value innovation, artistic expression, and positive social impact.

I’m interested in collaborating with:

1. Cultural and Artistic Organizations: Museums, galleries, and cultural centers that focus on showcasing contemporary art and promoting community engagement. These collaborations can result in exhibitions, installations, and interactive projects that inspire and educate.

2. Socially Conscious Brands: Companies and brands that prioritize sustainability, social responsibility, and community involvement. I’m excited to work with partners who share a commitment to making a positive difference through art, whether that’s through public murals, fashion collections, or film projects that raise awareness of important issues.

3. Nonprofits and Community Groups: Organizations dedicated to social causes, such as education, environmental conservation, or youth empowerment. Collaborations with these groups can create art projects that bring awareness to important causes and engage the community in meaningful ways.

4. Media and Entertainment Companies: Studios, production houses, and media outlets that are interested in storytelling through film, documentaries, and other multimedia formats. Collaborating with these entities allows me to reach a broader audience and create impactful stories.

If you’re reading this and interested in collaborating, I’m always open to new ideas and partnerships.
