Meet Claudia Mendoza

We were lucky to catch up with Claudia Mendoza recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Claudia, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I found my purpose by building a company that would help families find engagement and have fun. I attended so many events and there’s so many people on their phones and not communicating or having fun. So I figured why not do something that is going to get everyone involved. Not just a specific age group.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My Businesses is Time2play.sd
I started this company a few years ago and has been very successful ever since then. Well, my company provides is entertainment for all ages. When I started, I just offered giant outdoor games, but as the years have passed. I’ve offered other services to go along with it. Time2play provides giant games that are used at events, birthday parties, family reunion, weddings, or just about any party or social events. Most of my games are about 4 feet tall, and can be played by all ages: adults and children. I want everyone at the event to have fun to laugh to engage and I just sit there. I’ve had a Bartending services, waitress services, catering, snack, carts, and many more other services. I built an Instagram page and have photos of all the services we provide. My goal is to always provide exceptional service.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

This is a great question! I’ve always believed that the three qualities or skills that any Business person or anyone who wants to start a Business or venture need these skills. You have to be good with people, you can’t be shy or judge mental. This is important because you’re gonna have all types of customers. Strong customer service skills is a necessity for any Business to be successful. You represent the company.
Second, you have to believe in yourself, and the product that you’re representing. You have to be able to sell it and convince why you are the one.
And finally, you have to be open to feedback whether be constructive criticism, get feedback or bad feedback Take it and learn from it and improve. You have to always be improving. You can’t just settle for anything.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

I would say, believe in me, and teach me from a young age that you have to work. Hard to be successful. I’ll share a short story. My father, when I was four years old, bought me a beautiful red little wagon. You would think he bought me the wagon so that I could have fun with it. But what he actually did. Was he bought this wagon. He filled it up with cookies. Sodas, juice, potato chips. And we used to live in this apartment complex, and what he did is at the young age. He made me go out there and knock in each store and try to sell the products. He put in my wagon, and at that age I can say, I considered that my first job ever. I remember, I wanted a toy, and he believes that you had to save money and know the value of money. Up to this day. I thank him for showing me that lesson at that age. It’s giving me the strength to know that I’m capable of doing anything. I said, my mind, too. And that if I believe in the product, I can sell it.
