Meet Claudia Rodriguez

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Claudia Rodriguez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Claudia below.

Claudia, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I derive my resilience from not having a Plan B. I founded my company, SUAVE MGMT, when I was technically homeless, definitely jobless, and had only a little over $1,000 in my bank account. I vividly recall withdrawing $600 to file all the necessary paperwork to establish my LLC. I could have started operating without it, but I was determined to make this venture legitimate. I wanted to commit to both myself and this dream of a business. The decision to spend over half of the money I had left to my name, with no immediate income in sight, was a significant risk. However, as they say, ‘big risks yield big rewards.’ Four months later, I earned my first commission of $400. I was almost able to recoup my initial $600 investment! I knew I could do it; I just had to continue believing that SUAVE was my path, and there was nothing else for me but SUAVE.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hi, my name is Claudia Rodríguez, and I am the CEO of talent management company SUAVE MGMT. My company represents and fosters the professional (and sometimes personal) lives of content creators and musicians.

I am excited about finishing the year strong with SUAVE! We added six new creators to our roster in the last month, and we are working on developing digital products for aspiring creators. The latter is a new venture for us, but I am so excited to connect with more creators and empower them to be able to live out and be supported by their passions.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Faith, Determination, and Kindness. Faith: faith that this would work out. Faith that every step I took was a step in the right direction (even if I had to redirect after taking certain steps). Determination: I was not going to let mistakes, upsets, nor failures stop me from continuing on and pursuing my dream. Kindness: no matter what, I was going to meet everyone I interacted with with kindness. Now, this doesn’t mean I didn’t have to lay down the lay (and still do). And my kindness is not to be taken for weakness. But unless I am given a reason not to, I am going to meet everyone with kindness. My advice for those early in their journey would be to remind yourself of these things. Put them on a post it. Say them as affirmations.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
I recently listened to “The 10x Rule” by Grant Cardone and loved it! The TL;DR of it is that you need to take your goal (having a talent management company that earns $20,000 in revenue per month) and 10x it (having a talent management company that earns $200,000 in revenue per month)! Focus on achieving your 10x goal ($200,000/month) so that, even if you don’t reach it, you will more than likely be above your 1x goal ($20,000). Additionally, throughout the book, he reiterates how you have to be different and not normal in order to reach your 10x goals. Most people work 9 to 5, but a 10x person works from 7 to 7, for example. The takeaway is to NOT do what everyone else is doing because ordinary actions only yield ordinary results. Extraordinary actions yield extraordinary results!
