Meet Claudia Wyatt

We were lucky to catch up with Claudia Wyatt recently and have shared our conversation below.

Claudia , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I learned to be resilient from a young age. Your resilience if fueled by determination, capability, imagination and a curiosity. My parents had me late in life. They instilled on me to be fiercely independent. Which is good and bad, not to say that didn’t come with some baggage. I grew up with the motto, I will figure it out. I always did, even if it was the hard way. The hard way does teach you a lot about yourself. What you are willing to do to get through obstacles.

My father was sick most of my life and my mom worked. Many times, it was necessary to go it alone. I found my resilience through going for it. If I wanted to do it, I would just go for it. Regardless of the outcome. This taught be how to be self-reliant. There is a subtle reward in overcoming difficulties on your own. Alot of wisdom in pain, challenges and failures. Your resilience shows up for you when you are faced with incredible difficulties. It’s the fight in you to keep going.

I had many challenges and roadblocks on my journey. I know that will continue to happen to teach me something. It’s that inner fight that gives you the courage to face it and keep going. You didn’t win on the first day. Keep going, keep trying and see the lesson. That is what leads you to the celebrations.

I believe your resilience is a part of you. Certain times in your life it goes dormant, that doesn’t mean it’s not there. IT’s just quietly waiting to stand up for you when it’s needed. When those life altering challenges come up. Your resilience shows up for you.

I had been tested with this more times than I can count. Three deaths in my family, two toxic marriages, feeling stuck in a job I had outgrown. Realizing not all the people in my life were there for genuine connection. We are all tested in various aspects of our work and lives. Not giving up is our resilience. Our resilience is our responsibility to ourselves. To stand up for what we know if right. To push through to get where we want and need to be. To learn from those hardships to shape us into the people we are meant to be and the lives we are meant to live. The root of your resilience is your purpose.

The key is to understand that different times in our lives require different levels of resilience. One size doesn’t fit all. Every time we make it through a situation or an experience, our resilience is right by our sides to help us reach the other side.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

One of the most difficult times in my life launch my career. I found myself because of my trial and tribulations. Lost myself right after my 30th birthday. My father and sister passed away within a month from each other. I lost my 17-year-old dog and my husband turned out to be a conman. I feel into a deep depression. Only having enough energy to get up and go to work and take care of my new dog. I was hiding from my problems and myself.

I feel into a deep depression; I just didn’t know that was what it was at the time. For 10 years I stayed locked up tight in my own vault. The bright and shiny person I once knew was missing. One day I had enough. I went for a walk. that walk changed my life. It was like I was waking up from a deep slumber. As I walked, I became more alive. In that moment, I knew I was meant for more. I was done with not living my life. I was done with saying yes to everyone but myself. I was done not knowing who that person was looking back at me in the mirror. I jumped headfirst into the work. That work helped me recognize patterns I had been holding onto, old stories and identities I was holding onto that no longer served and unmute myself. That is when I decided to be the change. I vowed in that moment to never let anyone go through what I went through alone.

My unwavering determination, integrity first, and seeing the excitement in possibilities as always fueled my fire to live on purpose. I am constantly learning and growing. I am not afraid to fail. I welcome challenges. This is my recipe for success.

Don’t let the opinions of others dictate your life. If you continue to let judgment, fear, shame and guilt influence your journey, you will never get to live the life you were meant to.

Take the risk to face yourself. You must get real with what you are allowing. The blame game isn’t serving you. It is holding you back. If it doesn’t align with your core values, it’s not worth your time and energy. Learn from your missteps. The only way to break a pattern is to understand where it came from. Do the work to uncover those lies you are telling yourself and let them go to make room for more.

Release the identify that is trapping you, you have to be willing to do this to embrace your true self and re-commit. That means you have to consider yourself worthy. You can re-write your comeback story as the hero. Allow yourself to be vulnerable it will connect you to your true self and your purpose. It will attract people, places and opportunities you are meant for.
Unmute yourself. You have something to say. Let it out. You will be surprised who needs to hear it and where that will take you. Always remember yes, you can to silence your inner critic and take your power back!

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

I have had many coaches and mentors that have guided and continue to guide me on my journey. Having a community of support is a gift. They provide so many recourses. I know when I am stuck, I can always reach out to these people. You can’t be afraid to ask for help. Collective experience from others will save you time, energy and frustration. In order to evolve and scale I must keep growing. I love learning new things. There are so many courses, conferences, videos and books out there. You can learn a lot from someone else’s story.
Knowledge is power. If I don’t know the answer I am going to find it. I find a challenge is just another opportunity to grow. I have been able to do things I never even dreamed up by going for it. The support and encouragement from friends and family warms my heart.
