Meet Clayton Ramsay

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Clayton Ramsay. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Clayton below.

Clayton , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

As the only African American entrepreneur in many rooms, I’ve learned that success comes from preparation, resilience, and community building. The challenges are real—Black-owned businesses often receive less funding, face systemic barriers, and operate within networks that may lack diversity. However, rather than seeing this as a limitation, I’ve used it as motivation to carve out my own space and build something meaningful.

One key to success is finding ways to stand out beyond just being “the only one.” I focus on bringing excellence, confidence, and undeniable value to every space I enter. Whether it’s through my product quality, knowledge, or work ethic, I make sure people remember my business for its impact, not just my identity.

Networking strategically has also been essential. I actively seek mentorship, collaborate with others who support Black entrepreneurs, and tap into organizations that provide resources and capital . Beyond that, I make sure to uplift and mentor others who may face the same struggles, creating a cycle of support and empowerment.

Ultimately, being the only one in the room means embracing leadership and showing that diversity in entrepreneurship is an asset, not a limitation.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I started my Sea Moss business during the pandemic, right from my kitchen, as a way to keep my family and myself healthy. At a time when uncertainty was everywhere, I turned to nature, believing in its power to heal and sustain us.
What excites me most about my business is that it’s more than just selling a product—it’s about educating and empowering people to take control of their health naturally. My mission is to show the world that for every disease, there is a plant-based cure. This is a belief deeply rooted in my Jamaican heritage, where natural remedies have been a way of life for generations.
I’m currently expanding my business to introduce more health and wellness products that revitalize the body. New arrivals like our Sea Moss Passion fruit punch have quickly become a best seller. Beyond just selling, I’m focused on community work—educating people about the benefits of natural healing and creating accessible wellness solutions for everyone. My goal is to shift mindsets about health and wellness, making holistic healing a first choice rather than a last resort. Sea moss is just the beginning—this is a movement toward reclaiming our health, naturally.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Success in entrepreneurship comes down to a few critical qualities: resilience, adaptability, and vision. My journey has been a testament to these traits. Starting my business in my kitchen during the pandemic, I had to push forward despite uncertainty, learning how to pivot and adapt along the way. Resilience kept me going when challenges arose, and adaptability allowed me to refine my products and business model based on customer feedback and changing market trends. Vision has been the driving force behind my mission—helping people realize that natural, plant-based remedies can transform their health.

For those just beginning, my advice is to stay committed, be willing to learn from failures, and surround yourself with the right support system. Success doesn’t come overnight, but with perseverance and a strong sense of purpose, anything is possible.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m looking for innovative, tech-savvy individuals who want to make a positive impact on the world, whether through health and wellness, sustainability, or cutting-edge solutions. My brand is growing, and I want to collaborate with those who bring fresh ideas, digital expertise, and strategic vision.

I’m also seeking investors who align with my mission and see the potential for expansion. Investors bring more than capital—they bring networks, industry insight, and strategic partnerships that can help scale the business and reach new markets .

If you’re passionate about making a difference and want to collaborate, let’s connect!
