Meet Cleopatra Bonny

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cleopatra Bonny. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cleopatra below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Cleopatra with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I definitely get my work ethic from my creativity. I’m always striving to discover the newest trend and improve my skills. I have a passion first and foremost before I have a business. I love what I do and it’s important to work hard towards my goals.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m a creative at heart and a brand designer in the hustle. I use my knowledge of trends and entrepreneurs’ paint points to create designs that help people market their brands and build engagement.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three things that had the biggest impact on my journey were creativity, reflection, and determination. My creativity is the foundation of everything—I love to create, I love to push myself, and I love making something that stands out. I spend time looking at inspo, breaking it down, and putting my own spin on things to create art that feels different.

I also reflect a lot. Whenever something goes wrong in my business, I go straight into admin mode—tracking progress, figuring out what needs to change, and shaking things up if needed. That habit helped me improve my work ethic and level up quickly.

And then there’s determination. This industry takes patience, and I had to learn that if I keep practicing and learning, my creativity stays sharp and I naturally keep up with trends. My advice to new designers? Stay curious, keep practicing, and put your work out there. The more you create, the more you grow, and that’s how you start attracting clients early on.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

The biggest challenge I’m facing right now is client retention. I get booked, and I get clients, but keeping a consistent flow is where I struggle. Right now, I’m working on better ways to communicate and stay in touch with past clients so they keep coming back for more services. I’m testing different approaches, like follow-up emails, exclusive offers, and more personal check-ins, to keep the cycle going and turn one-time clients into repeat customers.
