Meet Clint Williams

We recently connected with Clint Williams and have shared our conversation below.

Clint, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
Well for me creative ideas come in everyday life, you just have to keep your eyes and mind open for them. For example, I can be in the grocery store and overhear someone’s conversation that sparks an idea. Or I could be watching tv and hear a phrase that can later become a song title, it’s literally everywhere. But for the most part, I use my current life events as storylines for my albums. For example, my album titled “Hillboy” was create after moving out of my hometown in Cleveland Ohio and relocating to Miami Florida. It was the story of a young man (Me) making the decision to leave his comfort zone that wasn’t serving him anymore, and displaying the trials and tribulations that come along with making a big decision like that. And then the following album titled “Currency Exchange” was created after I started to travel internationally. In that album I documented all of my experiences I had during my travels and how it has opened my mind to how big the world actually is. So I say all that to say that your own life story can be a constant source of creativity. You just have to keep living and documenting your experiences as you go.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m currently running my rental car/auto dealer company called “Simple Auto LLC” here in Atlanta Georgia. We specialize in providing affordable transportation for everyday people, so typically the cars we sell are $5000 or less. Most people just need to get around to places like work and school and don’t want a big monthly car note, and so that’s where we come in. We also offer newer model cars for rental opportunities. I really enjoy the process of finding cars to sell so it’s really enjoyable for me.

And as for my music, I just recently released my new album titled “Currency Exchange” and it is available on all platforms! I’m also growing my YouTube channel (GamTV) where I post videos voicing my opinions on various topics, share interesting life stories and experiences and also reaction videos. So go and subscribe to GamTV on YouTube today!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Well the first thing I would say is find something you love and have a passion for. The passion I have for the things I do keep me going even when it’s not all working out the best. The type of things you would do for free, if you can make them your job you’ll never work a day in your life. The next thing I would say is being able to visualize what you want your future to look like. That way you can make the proper steps to getting there. Everything you see in the world today first started with an idea. And the third thing I would say is to always stay humble and grateful. This will keep you grounded and an enjoyable person to work with. People will want to work with you and give you opportunities because of the energy you give to others. A good attitude can take you a long way.

And also be a student of whatever you are pursuing. Spend the time to do the research and learn your craft. And one of the most important things is to be brave! Now I don’t mean foolish bravery, but calculated bravery instead. Once you’ve done the research and made your plan, act on it aggressively!

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
One book that inspired me a lot was called “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. It’s a story about a young man who just felt like it was more to life than just following the same path as everyone else. He felt like he had a destiny to fulfill that no one else could understand. I could relate to that a lot because I always felt like I was called to do something special. And when I say special that doesn’t particularly mean fame or riches, but whatever makes you feel fulfilled. One of the best quotes I remember from the book is “Don’t be a glass make just because it looks good on paper”. I could relate to that.
