We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cody Bowman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cody below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Cody with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I get my work ethic from my parents. Growing up, I watched them struggle while supporting our family of 5. Although, I did not realize it then…I know now. Despite being born with a disability, I was always taught that nothing in life comes for free. I believe in working hard for the things that you want.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a 2023 graduate of the University of South Florida. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional & Technical Communications. My dream job would be to work in digital marketing. I have experience in content creation and social media management. Currently, I am working with Vocational Rehab to find a paid internship or entry level position in the field. A remote work experience would be ideal. Aside from being a person with a disability, it has been difficult for me to find a position. Without much experience, people will not give it to you. So if you are willing to take a chance on me …please reach out! 🙏

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Well, being a millennial has certainly worked to my advantage. I basically grew up with computers and technology. I’ve been on social media platforms like Facebook for 20 years. So being able to adapt to new things and be able to self-teach has been a big help in fueling my knowledge of all things virtual media. In addition, these days you have to understand how to increase engagement and how to connect with an online audience if you want to gain more traffic to your social media pages. So learning how to cater to my targeted audience has been helpful. Lastly, just being yourself and being fun and enthusiastic. That’s a big part of content creation!
My best advice to anyone who wants to learn more about digital marketing is just to learn all that you can. There are so many free courses online that teach you various aspects of digital marketing. My favorite sites that I have used are Hubspot, Courseera, and Google Garage. The more experience & knowledge that you have under your belt, the better you will be, in my opinion.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes! I am currently looking for an opportunity that will give me more experience in digital marketing (ie; social media management, content creation etc.). I would love to find someone to mentor me or who is willing to offer me experience such as a paid internship. A remote experience would be ideal. I am eager to learn!
