Meet Colleen Biggs

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Colleen Biggs a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Colleen, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

Resilience has been built into every chapter of my life. I’ve always believed that challenges aren’t meant to stop us — they’re meant to strengthen us. Over the years, I’ve learned that resilience comes from trusting myself, leaning on my faith, and surrounding myself with people who lift me higher — including my family, who have always been my anchor.

Whether I’m leading a business, launching a franchise, or navigating the unexpected, I remind myself that growth never comes from comfort. Every obstacle has been an opportunity to innovate, adapt, and lead from a place of gratitude. My resilience comes from choosing to see possibility instead of limitation — and that mindset has carried me through everything from founding multiple companies to building a family legacy with Phoenix Drone Pros.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’ve always been passionate about helping people build, grow, and see possibility where others see limitation. That’s really been the through line of my entire career — whether it was coaching business owners, leading communities of women entrepreneurs, or now, building something incredible with my family through Phoenix Drone Pros.

Phoenix Drone Pros started with my husband, Robert, whose deep experience in aviation and drone technology inspired us to create a business that combines creativity, innovation, and precision. What began as a local aerial photography and mapping company has quickly evolved into something much bigger — a family-run brand built on excellence and trust.

What makes Phoenix Drone Pros so special is that we’re not just flying drones — we’re helping businesses and communities see the world from a new perspective. From construction and land surveying to marketing footage, 3D mapping, and inspections, our goal is to make projects safer, faster, and more efficient through advanced drone technology.

I’m most excited about where we’re headed next. We’ve recently expanded our service offerings and are now consulting and advising others who want to start their own drone businesses. Robert works one-on-one with new drone operators, guiding them from certification to launch — something we’re both deeply passionate about. We love empowering others to turn their skills into successful, profitable ventures, just like we did.

At the heart of it all, Phoenix Drone Pros is more than a drone company — it’s a family legacy. Every project we take on represents teamwork, innovation, and a shared vision to elevate what’s possible, one flight at a time.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three qualities that have shaped my journey the most are vision, adaptability, and collaboration.

Vision has always been my compass. You have to be able to see beyond where you are today — to imagine what’s possible before it exists. Whether it’s building a business, launching a franchise, or starting a new chapter, that vision gives direction when things get uncertain. My advice: carve out time to dream, write it down, and revisit it often. Clarity creates momentum.

Adaptability has been key to my success. The world changes fast — technology evolves, markets shift, and life throws curveballs. What sets successful leaders apart is their ability to pivot with purpose. When we founded Phoenix Drone Pros, the drone industry itself was evolving rapidly, but instead of resisting that change, we embraced it. My advice: stay curious and see change as your training ground, not your obstacle.

And finally, collaboration. Nothing great is ever built alone. Working with my family — combining our different strengths, ideas, and energy — has been one of the greatest gifts of this business. Collaboration builds resilience, creativity, and trust. For those starting out: surround yourself with people who believe in your mission and challenge you to grow. The right team can take you further than you ever imagined.

Those three qualities are the foundation of how we lead and grow at Phoenix Drone Pros.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Absolutely. Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do at Phoenix Drone Pros. We’re always looking to connect with businesses, contractors, developers, and creative professionals who see the potential of drone technology to enhance their work — whether that’s through aerial mapping, inspections, marketing footage, or Video Offering Memorandums.

We also love partnering with innovators and entrepreneurs who are ready to explore the drone industry for themselves. Through our consulting and training programs, Robert works directly with aspiring drone operators who want to turn their skills into successful businesses. It’s incredibly rewarding to help others take flight in an industry that’s growing so rapidly.

We welcome collaborations that align with integrity, quality, and a shared vision for innovation. Anyone interested in connecting can reach out directly through our website at www.phoenixdronepros.com
or find us on Instagram and Facebook @PhoenixDronePros.

At the end of the day, our goal is simple — to elevate possibilities together, one partnership and one flight at a time.
