Meet Conner Chant

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Conner Chant. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Conner , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Growing up, I was an extremely shy kid. Having a twin brother meant I often stayed in his shadow, making it challenging for me to feel confident on my own. It wasn’t until college that I began to develop my confidence. Interacting with new people, trying new things, and embracing my individuality all played a role. However, when the pandemic forced me to return home from college, I felt devastated. I had just started to feel confident in myself, and suddenly, everything was upended. During this time, I randomly decided to post on TikTok and surprisingly began gaining a following. This experience pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and put myself out there. It was through this process that I rediscovered my confidence and realized it had always been within me.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, I practically grew up with a camera in one hand and an imagination in the other. My journey began by posting videos on YouTube during middle school. While my friends may have cringed, I was having fun, and that’s all that mattered. In college, I transitioned to creating random product videos in my bedroom. I quickly found an audience that resonated with my creations. Collaborating with amazing brands, I showcase their products while infusing my unique perspective. What I find most fulfilling is the feedback I receive after creating a video, whether it’s positive or negative. It fuels my growth as a creator and strengthens my connection with my audience.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Drive, confidence, and understanding that failure is okay. I’ve always been highly driven, and this determination proved invaluable when I started creating commercials on TikTok. It enabled me to consistently generate new ideas and execute them into final products. Confidence didn’t come naturally to me, but I’ve learned its importance. Being confident in your work allows you to express yourself fully. Lastly, accepting failure as part of the process was crucial. It’s been a journey, but I’ve realized that failing at a task is not the end – it’s an opportunity to learn and grow. My advice to those early in their journey is to try new things. Growth and improvement come from experimentation. Trying new things builds confidence, strengthens your underlying drive, and turns failure into a rewarding learning experience. So, embrace the unknown and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was to encourage me to pursue my creative dreams. While my dad had aspirations of being a musician and my mom dreamed of owning a clothing store, they both chose more traditional paths for the sake of our family. They always supported my brothers and me in taking the unconventional creative route if that’s what we desired. Growing up, they instilled in us the belief that following our passions was important. I’ve always been drawn to the creative arts, whether it’s painting, filming, or singing, and my parents never hesitated to encourage me to pursue these interests. They supported my decision to pursue a degree in film, which has had a profound impact on my life. Witnessing my dad pick up music again and release some incredible songs has been inspiring, and my mom’s keen sense of style has made her my fashion icon. I am forever grateful to my parents for allowing me to live out my creative dreams and for being unwavering in their support. They have truly shaped the trajectory of my life in the most positive way possible.
